Chapter 1: A New Life
Narrator: A simple girl whose name is Lilei lived in a town far away from the city. She's a 15-year-old teenage girl. She's beautiful, naive, and a generous girl in their village. Even though she doesn't have many friends, she doesn't feel alone. One day her family decided to move into the city because they bought a new house by using their savings, but she didn't want to move out because she doesn't want to leave her happy home where her cousins are. Lilei: "Mom and dad, do we need to move out?!" Dad: "Yes, we need to.." Lilei: "For what?" Mom: "Your father found a stable job. This is for our own good, for your own good. Understand?" Lilei: "Can I just stay here while you and dad just move out? I'm fine here, I've got my cousin, aunt, and uncle." Mom: "I am your mother and I decide!" Lilei: *Sigh* "Fine, I'll go.." Mom: "Don't worry about feeling lonely; you'll have new friends there in your new school, plus your cousins, Roxy, Rozy, Reynold, and their parents are coming too, and also we can visit here in our town every six months or every event or even holiday." Narrator: Lilei hesitated to move out, but she also wants to try to get exposed to the public and make a new start. When the day came, they all started packing and getting excited, except for Lilei. She feels very nervous thinking maybe she's never gonna be used to living in the city. When they arrived at the city for about three hours at night, Lilei felt amazed by the city lights, the buildings, and the crowded people in the city because she had never been in a city before. Tomorrow is her first day of school, so she slept early that night after they arrived at the city. The next day... Mom: "Lilei, wake up! You might be late for your first day of school." Lilei: "Yes, mom, I'm already awake." Mom: "Okay, then get faster. Dad is going to work after he drops you and your cousins off at school." Narrator: After Lilei gets ready she hops into her dad's car. Dad: "Sweetie, are you ready now?" Lilei: "Yes, I guess?" Dad: "You look a bit nervous. Are you okay?" Lilei: "Of course, yeah, I'm always fine." Dad: "Are you overthinking again? Just think about the positive, not negative. That's what your mother always says if she's here seeing that face." Lilei: "Yeah yeah, I'll always remember that, dad." Narrator: When she arrived at school with her cousins, she tried to ask someone what room she was going to be in, but she felt embarrassed after she got ignored by the people in the school. Until the bell started. Her palm is getting sweaty not knowing what to do, until there is a handsome and tall looking man whose name is Eyrone asking her with his deep voice if she is ok. Lilei: "Not gonna lie, I'm not really okay because I'm lost in this school." Eyrone: "Oh, so you're new here.. what room are you looking for?" Lilei: "I don't know? But I'm a fourth-year high school student. Can you help me?" Eyrone: "Yeah sure, no probs." Narrator: After Lilei finally found her room, she introduced herself to everyone with a friendly smile on her face. Teacher: "Lilei, you go sit there beside Lily." Lily: "Well hi Lilei, I guess we have the same name." Lilei: "Well hello Lily, my name is spelled L-I-L-E-I. So I guess, we don't have the same name." Lily: "But it's pronounced the same." Lilei: "It's not pronounced like your name and our names don't have the same spelling." Daisy: "Guys, fighting over the same name isn't a big deal." Lily: "Yes, it is." Lilei: "And for your information, we don't have the same name." Daisy: "Okay, just stop arguing." Narrator: Lily and Lilei are still glaring at each other until the end of the class. Lilei is picked up by her father after school. Dad: "How was your school, Sweetie?" Lilei: "To be honest, I'm so tired.. I have a classmate that thinks that we have the same name and have the same pronunciation of the name. I mean it also doesn't have the same spelling." Dad: "Hahahah." Lilei: "What's so funny about it, dad?" Dad: "I don't know but it sounds funny to me.. heheh." Lilei: "Never mind, I know no one will understand." Narrator: Lilei feeling angry while staring at the car window, thinking something. At home she decided to make a diary after finishing her homework. Thinking about using her diary to pour her feelings and thoughts. Tomorrow morning... Roxy: "Cuz! Are you going to school or not? Hey!" Lilei: "Yes, I'm alive, I mean awake!" Roxy: "We're getting late! Your father already has to work, while you're sleeping." Lilei: "Why didn't they wake me up!" Roxy: "I mean they tried, but you wouldn't wake up." Reynold: "No more chitchats, we have only ten minutes left." Lilei: "Ten minutes?! Oh no.. Please just wait for me guys, I'll be quick. I promise." Narrator: Lilei rushed as she brushed her teeth after eating. As they hopped into her cousin's car, they hurriedly went to school. When they arrived at school, they were four minutes late. Teacher: "Lilei, give me a valid reason about why you are late this morning." Lilei: "Well.. um.. am I late, Mrs. Johnson?" Teacher: "Yes, you are, young lady." Lilei: "Sorry I didn't know. I thought I came here early." Teacher: "Next time, don't ever be late again, or when you're late, give me an understandable reason. Or else..." Lilei: "Okay, Mrs. Johnson, I understand." Narrator: Lilei felt relieved, thinking that Mrs. Johnson was giving her another chance. Lily: "Good for you, Mrs. Johnson is giving you another chance, unlike me, she made me write long essays as a punishment." Lilei: "My old school is not like this school." Lily: "Why?" Lilei: "My old school doesn't really have any strict rules or teachers. Hahah." Narrator: Lilei really made a new friend.
