THE NIGHT EVERYTHING CHANGED

The cold night air hit my face as I stepped outside, but it did nothing to numb the pain inside me.

Rejected.

Humiliated.

Alone.

I wrapped my arms around myself, trying to hold back the sob threatening to escape.

I froze.
