CONFRONTATION

I didn’t think. I didn’t plan. I just moved. The moment I saw her, I walked straight toward her. Alina. She stood in the hallway, calm as ever. Like nothing had happened. Like she hadn’t just tried to have me attacked. “You’re bold,” she said, noticing me immediately. “You sent them.” No hesitation. No fear. Her lips curved slightly. “That’s a serious accusation.” “Answer me.” She stepped closer. “You really think I would do something like that?” she asked softly. I didn’t back down. “Yes.” Silence. Then she smiled. Slow. Cold. “You’re smarter than I thought,” she said. My chest tightened. “So you admit it?” “I didn’t say that.” “You didn’t deny it either.” Her eyes darkened slightly. “Be careful,” she said quietly. “Accusing someone like me can be dangerous.” “Trying to get me hurt is even more dangerous,” I shot back. For a moment, neither of us moved. Then she leaned closer. Lowering her voice. “You’re still here, aren’t you?” she whispered. My body tensed. “That means I didn’t try hard enough.”
