“The possessive, demon CEO is my crush” is a fictional romance story that was centred on two main strong characters, Adrian and Vanessa Handerson.

Adrian is a young, sexy-looking billionaire, that has a killer smile young ladies would kill for. He has strong athletic body—heavy chested, solid-looking arms but weird, off-key behaviour. He was arrogant, bossy and over pompous. Adrian was someone who had never fallen in love with any woman before but anything he ever wanted in women, he gets them. And that includes s*x, kisses, heartbreaks, name them. He didn't really care about the consequences of his actions. He would be best described as "heartless."Adrian met Vanessa, an enthralling young female nurse one day at the birthday party of one of his business associates. He liked her at first sight and felt like having s*x with her that night— yes, he was that stupid and had been doing it with other girls before.

Vanessa who was a young female nurse was a best friend to Trixie who was also a nurse in the same hospital as her. They both started working in this hospital just after they had graduated from Harcourt Teaching Hospital and it became the first gig they ever landed. Vanessa had come from a poor home with a sick father who had been sick since the first day she got admission into school and a stay-at-home mom. Due to her financial status, she studied on a student loan until she graduated from school from her first year to her final year. Even her salaries weren't enough to pay her bills. While she carves out 25% of her salary to give to the government, she takes 25% while her sick dad takes the remaining 50%.

One day, Trixie, 26, told her friend Vanessa, 25, about a birthday party of her friend, Alison who was a daughter of a billionaire. Vanessa was reluctant at first to go to this party with Trixie but later decided to go with her friend.

At the party, she saw a cute stranger, handsome beyond the flare of mere mortals. He was more or less like an angelic being, someone made in heaven and bestowed with the beauties of angels. She never knew that such a handsome man could be seen anywhere in the world or maybe in her world. Adrian was so handsome as if he was mistakenly created as a man instead of a woman. Vanessa was bewildered by this gorgeous creature.

At the party, she couldn't stand his presence without thinking about doing bad things to him in her imagination so she left outside to have some fresh air. Adrian followed her outside after he had picked interest in her too. He met her and told her that he wanted to have s*x with her. Vanessa was offered up to two million dollars just to have s*x with Adrian but she refused.

Refused?

Adrian was confused. No lady had ever done that before to him.

She shouldn’t have refused to collect a whopping two million dollars from him unless she was crazy, he thought.

No woman born of a man had ever been able to refuse his s****l adversaries. No one except Vanessa. For this reason, Adrian started on his quest just to get her to have s*x with him. He went as far as purchasing the hospital where Vanessa worked as a staff. He became an overnight owner of this hospital and promoted Vanessa to be his assistant. He did this so he could keep Vanessa close to himself and always watch her and finally have the opportunity to carry out his EVIL intention. But then, it didn’t work as planned. Adrian fell in love with Vanessa instead. He loved Vanessa so much that he was not willing to let her go.

But then, Adrian at a young age had been cursed not to ever find true love. As a child who was the son of a vampire mother and a demon father, he was destined not to survive— to be killed at a young age.

Adrian's mother, Joan, had raised Adrian in the vampire kingdom of Xerephis where the vampire king raised him like his own son. But the day he found out that Adrian wasn't his son, he brought a witch to curse him. They cursed him with the death-curse— he would never be able to find true love. But he found Vanessa!

The question now is, would they defeat the curse and leave happily after? Will their love for each other strengthen their resolve and make them conquer the curse? Will Adrian be able to keep the woman by his side forever or will he let go because he was caused?

Chapter 1: Crazy world
Vanessa’s POV A loud thunderstorm roared outside the hospital, and lightning struck our electricity lines, putting to damage all transformers supplying light to our clinic. Darkness reigned supreme inside until our emergency lights flickered back on to life. I felt achingly cold. I failed to come with my sweater or anything strong that would cover my body properly. My friend, Trixie, and I were on night duty and we had only emergency lights on for the moment pending when the transformers would be fixed. I hated night duties but Trixie loves them— except on weekends which she preferred to be for parties. "Hey, Trix,” I said. “I am feeling cold,” I complained to her as though she was my mother. Anyway, Trixie was 26 years old while I was 25 years of age. We both shared the same birth month and would have almost shared the same date if she hadn’t decided to escape her mother’s womb just a day before me— while she celebrates on the 27th day of August, I celebrate on the 28th day of August. Though she always preferred we both celebrate on the same day. Trixie laughed mockingly at me, showing me all her set off pure white teeth which I had managed to see because of the emergency lights. “Told you it might rain today, isn't it?” I hesitated for a moment before I answered her. Yes, that was true. She did tell me that it would rain but I doubted her. It came to the point that we argued whether it would rain or not. “Yes, you did.” My voice sounded weak, tired of starting up an argument. “Good. You should have listened,” she said and laughed mockingly at me again. “Crazy.” She muttered in a low tone. Trixie could be a freaking, crazy, b***h. But she was a very caring friend too. Did I fail to mention that she was a nurse? Oh! Sorry! We were both nurses and we both worked in the same hospital downtown, Harcourt street. The hospital may pass as an “average hospital” according to the reviews I have heard from some patients I have treated over the past few months. It was the first hospital both of us worked for since we graduated from HTH school of nursing sciences two years ago. The truth is, the hospital wasn't that great. There were plenty of basic amenities we lacked. And some unlucky patients we had treated here were referred to other hospitals around town to get the best treatment. Ever since we graduated, I have been working my ass off to pay my bills so I could pay up the loan given to me by the government during my time of study— first year to the final year. It hadn’t been easy though. Having a father who suffered from a stroke since the day the good news broke out about my admission stuff and a mother who was a housewife and had been finding it way difficult when it comes to monetary support. I had depended on myself since the very first day I gained admission into the school of nursing and thanks to my friend, Trixie, I was able to at least put my head under a shelter from our first year till our final year. Trixie and I had continued to share a room even after we had graduated, including now that we both worked as professional nurses. The only thing that had changed was that I had been able to share the bills with Trixie since after my graduation— be it rent, water bills, electricity, and so on. Getting the job had given me a sense of entitlement. The problem I think I still faced was, that I had to always share my bills with the federal government until I will be able to come out from the financial quagmire I subjected myself to. I give the government 25% of my income every month while I share the remaining 75% between my responsibilities. I studied with a government loan and it would take me 584 years to balance up the payment at a $20 per month instalment. Trixie and I worked under A&E in the hospital department. While she didn’t find it difficult, I did. I had always preferred the maternity ward, I love it. It allows me to see cute babies delivered in our hospital almost every day. A&E stands for accident and emergency and till this very moment, it had been the busiest department in the hospital which invariably makes my presence in the hospital always needed as a nurse. Even when we were student nurses practising here, I never wanted to work in the department but I learned the hard way— wishes weren’t horses and horses aren’t wishes either. I later got to understand that working in various departments was good for growth and diversity. I looked at Trixie from inside the counter, she sat comfortably at a reclinable back chair behind the counter. She sat with her short nosy black hair relaxed at the back of the chair, her gaze focused on her phone. I didn’t have to guess to know that she was chatting with someone. She would giggle from time to time, making me wonder if she wasn't feeling cold like I was feeling it. Trixie was thicker than me though. So I always gave her the benefit of the doubt because of that. Ever heard, that the fatter or thicker you become the less likely it would be for you to get chilly? “Don’t think I didn’t hear you, girl. A-maa spank your godamn ass when we get home.” Trixie laughed. I liked it when she laughs. It exposes the gap teeth in between her incisors and makes her dainty cheeks look more beautiful and defined. Trixie and I shared the same height, 5’7 close to nothing else. Some would say that I was a finger taller than her but I didn’t see that myself. She too didn’t. She would never concur with such unproven and unrealistic theories— what she usually called the argument. In fact, she had never agreed that I was taller than her— thanks to her brackish and over-argumentative character. Both of us could spend the whole day arguing with each other on something so trivial but sometimes I would allow her to win because if I didn’t, we might not get to talk to each for a whole day. And as someone who she had housed and sometimes clothed for more than three years, I always considered it worthwhile that I owe her some level of respect. “Watch your language young nurse,” she told me. “We are still in the hospital.” “It wouldn’t stop me from doing what I will do to you when I get home,” I bemoaned. “Get well soon from your sickness first, Vanessa Henderson,” she teased me, calling my names in full. “Your lack of coming to terms or agreeing with the subject that I am a necromancer in my previous world had always been a difficult task for you.” She dropped her phone, playing with her finger. “You know that’s a colossal lie, dear Trixie. I will always tell you that.” I widened my eyes at her.
