The Return
The spring of 1866 was warm and sunny. An array of spring flowers covered the landscape. Evil things of the past were almost all forgotten and the various businesses of the moor was in full swing. Sheep, lambs and cattle dotted the rolling landscape covered in heather and gorse bushes. The short grasses, a delicate green colour, must have been very refreshing to the livestock after a long winter.
Denzil Stickles chose a cool sunny day to ride over the moor and visit the old Stickles farm. He had not seen it since late the previous summer. At that time, it was very quiet, not a sign of beasts or demons or even a raven. He expected it to be the same, it was nearly five years since he last saw the Goathead.
