The moorland people enjoyed some warm sunny weather, and soon it was well into the month of June. A lot of activity was taking place in the village of Rexford as people set up for their annual fête on the village green. There were games planned for the children and stalls laid out for various items to be sold. Fortunately, on the day of the fête the weather was perfect and a lot of local folk took time from their daily life to enjoy the day. Included among the visitors to this event, besides the Baseharts, were the Vale family. Morgan and Rachael, dressed in their best clothes, spoke with friends and neighbours, some of whom they had not seen for some time.
