Later, the same day, just after the sun had set, John Vale Sr., who was now over eighty years of age, received visitors. The ghost of Stanley Braystone Stickles appeared before him and granted him "Peace". He was followed by the ghost of his brother, Robert Stickles.
“Vale, your time has come upon this earth and death will fall upon this home this very night”. Moaning softly, the ghosts melted away and later that night, John Vale Sr. passed away, due to old age and poor health.
The Balorbane sat in the one sound chair within the ruins, having rattled the ox bones together. It was waiting for the arrival of the skeletons.
