Free from her prison behind Avery’s firewall, the ADA A.I. tore through virtual corridor after corridor, flashing in an instant from one network node to another as she chased down the intruder with her horde of monstrous debuggers following behind her, desperate to fulfil their function and cleanse the network.
After defeating Mori, Avery had retreated to her original sanctuary, the tiny glitch in the building’s maintenance code. Once there, she had unpacked the data file that Gwendolyne had sent her and set about following the detailed instructions it contained with grim determination. It seemed that the great Dr Griffin had sensibly taken steps to shut down her vault should it be necessary. Steps that would work just as well on the Kaoteck vault.
