39 ALL THINGS END Aloysius Kroll knelt, clutching at his shattered knee where the Echo of Kristy Luongo had used her final moments to shoot him. Beneath him, the pyramid lay in darkness, yet he was bathed in the lights of the Enclave craft as it touched down on the landing pad. The craft’s motors ticked and whined as they spooled down, and the entry ramp yawned open with a languorous hiss. A single, diminutive figure emerged, silhouetted against the craft’s interior. Gideon stared in fascination as the otherworldly figure shuffled towards Kroll.
