Some stories don’t end with goodbye. Some end with silence. She thought love was in the little things—the late-night calls, the soft touches, the way his eyes found hers in a crowded room. But what she didn’t realize was that love also lives in the things left unsaid. The feelings he never confessed. The truths she was too afraid to ask.The distance that grew quietly between them. They didn’t break all at once. They faded… slowly, painfully, and without closure. Now, she’s left with memories that won’t let go and words that were never spoken. But when fate brings him back into her life, all the silence they once hid behind begins to crack.Because some love stories aren’t ruined by lies—…but by everything they never said

Chapter One: The Silence Between Us
The house was too quiet. Not the peaceful kind of quiet—the kind that suffocates you slowly, wrapping around your throat like invisible fingers. The kind that forces memories to speak when people refuse to. Arielle stood by the window, her fingers lightly pressed against the cold glass, watching the city lights flicker like distant stars. From the outside, everything looked alive… vibrant… full of meaning. But inside this house? Everything was fading. She exhaled softly, her breath fogging the glass, blurring the world beyond it. Sometimes she wished life worked that way—one breath, and everything painful would disappear. But pain doesn’t leave. It stays. It settles. It becomes a part of you. Footsteps echoed from behind her. She didn’t turn. She didn’t need to. She already knew it was him. “Still standing there?” his voice came, low and calm, yet distant—like he was speaking from a place she could never reach. Arielle swallowed, her fingers curling slightly. “I like the view,” she replied quietly. A lie. She hated the view. Because it reminded her that there was a whole world out there she wasn’t a part of. Silence followed. Heavy. Familiar. Painful. Kael stepped into the room, his presence filling the empty space without effort. He always did that—walk into a place and somehow make it feel smaller, tighter… harder to breathe. He stopped a few steps behind her. Close. But not close enough. “Dinner’s ready,” he said. A simple sentence. Yet somehow, it carried everything they never said. Arielle nodded, even though he couldn’t see her face. “I’m not hungry.” Another lie. She was always hungry. Not for food. But for something she could never ask for. Kael’s jaw tightened slightly, though his voice stayed controlled. “You should eat.” “I said I’m not hungry.” Her tone was sharper this time. Fragile. Defensive. Like glass moments before it shatters. Another silence. Longer. Deeper. Then— “Why do you always do that?” he asked. Arielle frowned slightly. “Do what?” “Push everything away.” Her breath caught. For a second… just a second… something in her chest almost broke free. But she forced it down. Like always. She turned slowly, finally facing him. And there he was. Perfect. Composed. Untouchable. Kael Laurent. The golden son of a wealthy family. The man who had everything. Except… the ability to say what he felt. Arielle tilted her head slightly, her expression unreadable. “Not everything wants to be held,” she said softly. Their eyes met. And for a moment— Something passed between them. Something dangerous. Something real. But just like always… It disappeared before it could become anything more. Kael looked away first. He always did. “Suit yourself,” he muttered, turning toward the door. Arielle watched him go. Her chest tightening with every step he took away from her. “Kael.” He stopped. But he didn’t turn. The distance between them felt unbearable now. Her lips parted slightly. Her heart pounded. Say it. Just say it. But the words… The words refused to come. They always did. After a long pause, she shook her head lightly. “…nothing.” Kael stood there for a second longer. Waiting. Hoping. But when nothing came… He walked away. And just like that— The silence returned. Arielle turned back to the window, her reflection staring back at her. Broken. Tired. Alone. Tears gathered in her eyes, but she blinked them away quickly. Because crying changed nothing. Because feelings meant nothing… When they were never spoken. She pressed her hand against her chest, as if trying to calm the ache inside. But it didn’t stop. It never did. Because the truth was— The most painful things in life… Are the ones we never say.
