SEVENTEEN *QUESTIONS*

1326 Words
My friends looked at my father unable to utter any word. They were visibly shaken from all they had just witnessed. “They were rogues daddy” I managed to say. “Rogues?” my father asked, surprised at the answer he had received. He turned to look around the environment to see if he would find any rogue. “Rogues, in my pack?” this time he asked with his focus on beta Paige. Beta Paige was even more surprised to hear of rogues in the pack. He looked at me to be sure I know what I was saying. He looked at my father trying to say something but was unable to utter any word. Everyone was shocked upon hearing about the presence of rogues in the pack. This has never happened, at least not in a very long time. They all murmured within themselves. “Yes daddy, they were five of them, they attacked me, over here, on this garden” I said. My father looked at me, and looked around the garden again. He appears to be terribly shaken by this news he had just received. He looked at the faces of everyone and couldn’t say anything. Alpha Andrew’s POV Rogues in my own pack, how did this happen, how were they able to make it through the borders without been detected, What happened to the guards at the borders? What did they come here for, where did they come from, why did they attack my little girl, who sent them? These and so many more questions beg for answers within me. Five rogues? Attacked my little girl, and I wasn’t even aware of their presence, in fact no one in the entire pack, none of my warriors was aware of this attack. I looked at Andrea, she was perfectly okay. How was she able to defeat them, five of them?” I hope my worst fears are not about to come into manifestation. I hope the prophecy isn’t coming true at the moment. I looked at Paige and he couldn’t look back at me, he avoided my gaze. I have to get this, I need to solve this mystery and whosoever is behind this, must pay with his life. I would spare no one. “Do you mean to tell me Andrea, that five rogues attacked you right here, in this garden?” I asked. With what I just heard, I tried my possible best to maintain my cool. “Yes daddy. I felt them approaching, and I had to hide my friends over there, at the heap of those flowers”. She answered, pointing to where she had hidden her friends. I looked at her hoping she would willingly give out more details on what transpired. Sensing what I want, she continues. “I couldn’t get where they came from, or who sent them. But I knew they were here for just me daddy, to cause some grievous harm to me”. Hearing these words coming from my daughter, Andrea, caused me great pains. I could not bear to hear that someone was trying to hurt her. I felt my blood rushed, I wanted revenge, I was thirsty for blood, blood of all those that dear to want to hurt my Andrea. “When they came, I requested that if they wanted to attack me, then they should shift to their human form, but they refused my request, saying that they weren’t here to negotiate” she paused. I listened, eager to hear everything that had happened. I gave her a sign to continue and she went on. “Thanks to Dahlia daddy, I was able to shift into my wolf for the first time, and that ensured my victory over the rogues. Paige’s POV Was I hearing her correctly, or are my ears playing pranks on me, did Andrea just admitted to shifting into a wolf, this is unheard of. How was that even possible? Every werewolves shifts for the first time at the age of eighteen, but she is only thirteen. I was perplexed by what I just heard. I looked at the Alpha and he seems lost in thought. I turned to face Jasper, he too was lost, not knowing what to make of this whole event. Finally, I turned to Andrea. She seems pretty calm, I can’t tell her mood by mainly looking at her, I can’t say what’s going on inside of her. Poor child, she is going through a whole lot with no one to truly understand her. “You shifted into your wolf?” I asked Andrea. I wasn’t expecting her to tell me no, I already know the answer. But I was yet to come to terms with the answer. Andrea looked at me, her face devoid of any form of expression. “Yes beta Paige, I shifted, into my wolf, right here, in this garden, while under attack.” She responded, looking straight at me and counting her words. Alpha Andrew’s POV I stared at Paige absentmindedly as he asked his question. I just couldn’t imagine my little girl shifting into some wolf to take on five other rogue wolves. So where are the wolves now?, Andrea is here, unharmed. That only goes to show that she had defeated them. Or did they run away when the heard the warriors approaching? I looked at Andrea, signaling for her to go on. “They all ran away upon hearing the warriors approaching”. Andrea concluded. “Damn it” I exclaimed. Escaped? No they can’t escape. Not until after I have ripped their skins off their bones. I was furious, the thought of the rogues escaping didn’t seat well with me. I have to know how far they have gone. “Can we catch them, how far do you think they might have gone Andrea?” I asked Andrea. I don’t know why I had decided to ask her this question, but with all I have heard, she seems to be the only person that could give me an accurate answer to the question “They can’t go too far daddy. They were badly injured. If the warriors keep to the north of the woods, they should catch up with them before nightfall”. She replied. This revelation brought consolation to my soul. The possibility of getting hold of the rogues pacifies me, it brought relief to me and great joy to my soul. I turned to Paige immediately, he is the only person I could trust with this task at this moment. The task of capturing rogues is not an easy one, for a rogues would rather die fighting, and would fight with all that is in him than giving in to captivity. I want them to come back with those rogues alive and I know that Paige is the only one that knows why I desire it to be so. Also, Jasper as the strongest warriors should go with them on this mission. Giving out two of my best men on this journey is a very hard decision to make, but for Andrea, I am ready to give up even more. “Paige, you and gamma Jasper should go after the rogues, take three other warriors with you. I will be expecting you back with them by nightfall” I instructed. Of course my instructions were clear enough to them. It gave no room for failure or whatever form of excuse. Andrea had assured that they would get the rogues, so they should get them. Paige immediately went into action. He picked two other warriors to join him and Jasper for the assignment and they immediately ran into the woods.
