We rushed down the passage and around a corner where Sage stopped. “What are we waiting for?” Naso shrieked as he looked at where we’d come. “They could come at any moment!”
“That is why we shall be leaving these dreadful catacombs,” Sage announced as he looked up at the ceiling. “I have been studying the ceiling and have noticed a slight depression where we might find an entrance into the lowest floor of the Index.”
“But how are we going to get through the ceiling?” Naso questioned him.
“With a little wind and some luck,” Sage told him as he looked to each of us. “If you would all stand back-” A howl from behind us made my blood run cold. “Actually, if you would all fall in line behind me.”
