Hidden Truth

{Caz POV}

"There is no way...it's not possible..." I turned away from Jade, walking toward my desk. I felt a sudden jolt in my head. It was from Aiden.

"Caz, what is going on? You are acting very strange.''

I went to my computer and quickly pulled up a special file my father had passed on to me before he passed away. The original document was stored away safely, and I had a copy uploaded to my computer. Reading through it, I leaned back in my chair and looked over to Aiden and then Jade.

"Aiden, come here please." I said softly. As Aiden gently moved past Jade, he made his way over to me. "Remember when you kept telling me something was different about her? But you could never put your finger on why she was different."

He looked at me and nodded some.

"Look at this document my father gave me before he passed, knowing I would need it someday." Aiden leaned forward and began reading the document. Then, his eyes slowly moved to the heading of the page, and he gave a slight chuckle.

"Well, I'll be..." Aiden then looked back at Jade, who was very confused. Aiden spoke softly. "Do you think Gerald knew?"

I nodded softly. "He told me she was special but wouldn't or didn't get a chance to tell me why."

I looked past Aiden to Jade, who was now annoyed because she was being left out of the loop.

"Anyone care to explain to me what in the hell all this is about!?" she crossed her arms over her chest, looking at both of us.

Aiden chuckled and stood up, walking away from the desk, and as he made his way out the door, he slightly bowed to her.

"Pardon me, my lady." She stared at him as he left, then snapped her head back towards me.

"Caz, what in the f*ck is he talking about?" I smiled slightly and motioned for her to come over to me.

"Jade, I think we may have figured out why you're so different from other pets I've had....and why you are labeled special." I trailed off slightly, looking at her. She raised a brow before I motioned for her to sit on my lap. I pointed to the document on my screen as she read the heading out loud.

"Fated Mate checklist..." she looked at me, "What does that mean?"

I smiled and placed a small kiss on her lips before speaking. "It means you're my destined mate, Jade...meaning you were meant to be with me and be mine but as my wife...and my queen."

{Jade POV}

I looked at him in utter disbelief. "You mean I'm fated to be married to a vampire king?" He chuckled and nodded.

"Does that also mean I... I'm supposed to be a vampire after all?" He smiled softly.

"Well, it wouldn't have started that way, and things would have gone completely differently." His voice faded as a wave of pure guilt washed over him.

"Caz?" He looked at me with tears now in his eyes.

"I am so sorry, Jade... I hurt my mate deeply. It's sick... I hate myself even more so now..." Tears ran down his face. "I don't know how I can ever fix what I have done..."

I gently lifted his head to look at me as I kissed his forehead, speaking softly. "I know it's going to take work, but... I would like to start over, Caz...and do things the way they were supposed to be done if that's okay with you?"

He looked at me, smiling softly. "I know it won't fix or make up for what I have done. I hope only time will be able to fix that hole in your heart that I put there with my stupidity and my actions."

He laid his head down on my chest as I gently ran my fingers through his hair.

"I'm sure it will in due time, Caz."

He looked up at me a moment before speaking, "Since you only got a small dose of my blood injected into you, we are not fully bonded, as we would need to be before you can become queen, as well as other training to know how to behave like royalty and what a queens duties are. I'm willing to take things slower for our full bonding to happen when you're ready, but we will have to have our full bonding ceremony before we can be wed."

I nodded softly, taking in everything he said. "So when do I start my education for my queenship?"

He chuckled a bit. "Whenever you are ready, kitten, just say the word, and I will get the best teacher/teachers for all your queen studies."

"I would like to start as soon as you can get someone here honestly." I smiled to myself, slightly thinking about my new future. How did I get so lucky to have fallen on this path of becoming a queen? I'm not too thrilled about how this journey started...nor our relationship, but I believe we can move past this, and maybe we can find who is the one behind the ring of murders in this kingdom.

I want nothing more than to make sure no one is trying to dethrone Caz...This world may be new to me, but I don't want to see Cazion fail. I sit lost in thought about the new discoveries that were revealed today.

"Caz..."

He looked up at me. "Yes, kitten?"

I bite my lip some, "Since I only have a bit of your blood in my system...will it filter out? Because this isn't who I am...I'm fiery and argumentative, and I do not forgive easily...not that I don't want us to move forward with a better future, but...being submissive is not who I am...and how I'm with everything I don't like it...because deep down Im broken and Im not okay with what you did to me or how you treated me..." My voice trailed off as tears began to fill my eyes.

Caz looked at me with regret and sorrow in his eyes, and guilt ravaged his face. "I can't begin to tell you how horrible I feel...I was so stupid...and a jack a*s I don't expect you to forgive me, but if you do, I will cherish the kindness of your heart..." He took my hand in his as he wiped away a runaway tear. "To answer your question. Yes, it will until we are fully bonded. That is one of the reasons I was to keep feeding you my blood...so it didn't wear off."

I looked away for a moment, letting his words sink in. "Ca,z I can't nor will I be a mindless piece of arm candy for you to parade around and be okay with anything...I refuse...it goes against everything I am...I would like to find a way to be bonded without changing who I am...I hope you can understand that..."

He chuckled softly and kissed the top of my hand. "I wouldn't have you any other way, kitten, honestly...it makes sense now why you were able to fight off the effects of the blood so easily because you not a pet, you a f*cking queen!"

He stood up with me in his arms, twirling me around as I laughed, his arm around me, holding me close to him. This was a new side of Cazion I'd never seen before...but I gotta admit I didn't mind it. As he set me on my toes on the floor, he leaned down to kiss me before Aiden busted through the office door, wood splintering like shrapnel. He hit the floor hard, blood running down his face.

"Y...your majesty...take lady Jade and run..."

We looked at the doorway as a dark figure with golden yellow eyes stared in at us, a wide grin spreading across his face. His voice was deep and sinister. “I found you...”
