PROLOGUE
It's been Seven whole years ever since Alia brought her brother back to life. Yes, you read that correctly " Back to life". Her brother, 23 years of age at that time, was usually a dickhead and an asshole and boy was he an annoying man-w***e. He literally brought home some skinny girl almost every second night. Alia really hated him for that, yet, he was my brother and she couldn't love him any less. One day when Alia came back from the library late around 7pm, she found his corpse right at the front door. Pale with blood all around him forming a pool of both new and dried blood. She just stood there frozen, eyes wide with her heart thumping so loud it felt like it would break through my ribcage at any moment. Realizing that this was all real she ran to his side, knelt down and tried to wake a cold body up. Alia's tears were noticeably streaming freely down my cheeks as it dawned on her, he was long gone....just like their parents. He left her all alone. After hours of trying CPR on him and realizing that she was too late. Alia slowly started weeping and gradually her cries became louder as they echoed across the empty forest. Burying her face into his neck while holding him tight against, she felt utterly lost. "I'm sorry, please come back. Come back to me, I promise to be good. You are the only family I have, I promise Brandon, please." She choked in between her own tears. Frustration surging within me, she released an involuntary yet powerful growl to the heavens. A growl known to only be of royalty. It shook the horizons as it reverberated through the autumn sky, cutting through its thin air, leaving several packs in awe and excitement. Excitement that a royal was walking amongst them for the 1st time in ten thousand years. This was a moment that will change everything. A moment of utter bliss and freedom. Alia's eyes went from Hazel to a darker glowing shade of blue. Turning her tears the same colour as they fell profusely onto her brother. Unbeknown to her that her tears were of a special gift. Out of the corner of her eyes, Alia saw a blue light emitting from somewhere. Lifting her head to look, she gave out an audible gasp. The light emitted came from her brother, Brandon. Quickly moving away from him, Alia kept her eyes on the glow that enveloped him. It was amazing how the bright blue glow was hovering on her brother, slightly lifting him off of the ground. With him floating ,Both his internal and external wounds were miraculously healing. As she watched Brandon's caved ribcage bind together with a quick snap. She jolted with a squeak. "Holy s**t!" She whispered already awe stricken by what was happening before her eyes. She was oblivious to the fact that she was the one causing his brother's healing. Alia couldn't peel her eyes off of her brother healing so damn quickly. It was like a movie miracle all in all. A few moments later, the light disappeared so quickly. She would have taken it as one of her nightmares if she wasn't out on the porch, cradling Brandon in her arms. Seeing Brandon's chest’s sudden rise and fall, Alia couldn't believe her eyes. She quickly slapped her hand over her mouth, shaken. To make sure she wasn't hallucinating, she lightly poked Brandon’s chest a few times and softly called out to him. "Brandon....Brandon". Stirring a little he abruptly opened his eyes. Alia a little frightened by his sudden movement jumped and move away from him. Brandon touched his head hissing lightly while he tried sitting upright, balancing himself using the wall. "What in the fuck...." "Brandon?" Alia whispered. Brandon quickly whipped his head towards his far left. Alia stood there with utter disbelief on her beautiful fair face. What caught his attention was his sister's still glowing eyes. They illuminated through the dark porch, leaving his jaw dropping and almost hitting the floor with shock. He opened his mouth trying to utter something, but he was too speechless and blown away to even say a single word. "Brandon, are you okay?" Alia called out with a whisper. Instead of an answer, Brandon stood up in his dazed shock and slowly walked towards his sister. Alia, not knowing what was wrong with Brandon, instinctively backed away with each step her brother took. "What-t are you d-doing?" Alia stuttered while retreating. Pausing for a while, Brandon slowly raised his finger pointing at something on Alia's face "Your eyes..." Alia, confused, crunched up her nose with a clear crease between her eyes... "My...eyes?" Brandon slowly nodded still rooted a few safe distances away from Alia. "What about my eyes? Gosh are they puffy? I think it's from all the crying you asshole made me go through. I mean are you insane too..." she went rambling on with her hands flying all over the place as she pointed at Brandon, forgetting the entire situation they were in. Brandon cut in-between her words. "No, They're…Blue" Alia stopped talking and looked at her brother like he had grown two heads. Folding her arms across her chest while rolling her eyes, she glared at her brother. "Really now, Brandon? Did something happen to your head in hell while you were dead? Because this certainly isn’t a joke, Brandon!" He didn't say another word. Instead, he quickly grabbed her wrist and walked into the house. He headed to the guest bathroom, dragging his struggling and hot-headed sister along with him. Alia was now busy swearing at him. She stopped when Brandon pushed her towards the mirror that was hanging above the sink. Blinking a few times she rubbed her eyes, but what she was seeing wasn't a dream as she had thought. Her eyes were a deep sea blue yet they were glowing bright, making them look like they were swirling like an angry sea under the moonlight. There was silence in the room for a while until Brandon broke it. "You are the missing piece. The chosen one." Alia turned to look at him. "What chosen one? What are you talking about?" Brandon quickly grabbed her, walked towards her room with large strides. "We need to leave tonight," looking down at her, he remarked. "What? What's going on? What the f**k are you talking about, Brandon?" Alia hissed, trying to pull her hand from her brother's tight grip. "You are not safe here anymore!!" Brandon roared at her. She looked at him with utter disbelief before being dragged into her room. This time she didn't try arguing back because it was the first time she had ever seen her brother this agitated. She had never seen him this ticked off. "Start packing. We leaving in a moment " he ordered, leaving no room for discussion or an argument. He walked out of Alia's room. Alia's eyes had now turned back to their hazel colour. He walked into his own room to start packing. Alia couldn't wrap her head around what was going on. Why the sudden change of behaviour from her brother. She and Brandon never really got along. He was there as her provider but never really there as a big brother. His cold shoulder always stung her. Well, he had never been nice to her anyway. He always kept a safe distance from Alia, only getting involved when he needed to. Everytime they locked eyes, Alia swore she would see the hate in his cold eyes. All the fire visibly burning in the depth of his eyes conveyed that message perfectly. ‘Packing?' She thought. She quickly ravaged around her room trying to pack what she could. From the jewellery which she had little of to her shoes which half if not more, were sneakers. She was never one to adore expensive and shiny jewellery, just some simple crafts, clothes and shoes which she had plenty of. She and Brandon were not of wealth(at least that's what she liked to think) but they could very much take care of themselves and be well fed. They lived comfortably, though he always reminded her what a burden she is to him. He never left her to fend for herself. He made sure she had everything she needed before disappearing for a while. Alia stuffed some of her belongings into her duffle bag, which was perfect for emergencies. She took most of her belongings with her, stopped when her eyes landed on a framed photo sitting on her nightstand. It was of her family. She paused and looked at it for a brief moment before walking towards it. Lifting it for a clearer view, she smiled at the photo that was illuminating such great and real happiness. Lightly rubbing her thumb across the smiling faces of her parents. She wished her parents were there to tell her everything was going to be okay. That they would be safe. She was brought out of the trance by her brother, querying if she was ready to head out. They needed to leave. Quickly nodding, Alia stuffed the framed photo with the rest of her belongings into her cute little black Soviet backpack. Grabbing her duffle bag, she walked towards the door but paused and turned her body a little. Alia took one last glance at her room before heading out. They hit the road with her brother using his SUV with tinted windows. She never knew why he bought it yet never really used it. But now she got the idea why. Looking at their house as it shrunk due to the distance. Alia vowed to get to the bottom of it all. She knew that whatever it was they were running from was a danger to them. She could feel the shift in the atmosphere ….That's when she knew her entire life was about to change.
