Chapter 40
Dita’s scan found the plant a few minutes before we landed. She pulls out a small tool case and pulls the panel off of the wall, “this shouldn’t affect the mechanics.” She says, disconnecting a few wires from the panel.
“What mechanics?” I take the sheet of metal from her.
“The door. That button controls the door.” She says, glancing up, her words are slightly garbled by the screws she holds between her teeth.
“Oh,” I say, placing the panel gently against the wall.
She holds her tablet up in front of the panel, and the program she has scans the box with a few pulses, lighting up the plant with a white box. She slips the tablet back into her pocket and moves the wire around before she can extract the small box with a few deft cuts of the cables holding it in place.
