The Unexpected Day

1620 Words
After work I made my way to Ravings, I am nervous that I might see MR Holt again, but I don't think that he will make it a habit to show up again. I dress in a black bra that has crisscross over my belly and my back. I am wearing a black shorts, revealing some of my ass, with my black high heels. My hair is in loose curls, I have applied dark make up to give that sexy edge. I walk up onto the stage, the song starts, the lights focus on me on the stage, I start to move my body with the music, I am dancing to Dua Lipa's Blow Your Mind, the slow and reverb version. I walk to the pole, I sway my hips, and flip my hair, I see MR Holt, sitting close to the stage in a seat, still in his suit, with a glass of scotch I'm assuming that is half way paused to his mouth, I think I see a little smile, but not evident enough as his aloof demeanor still takes over. The man sitting in the seat on the opposite side of their little table is MR Landon, grinning up at me. I am in so much trouble because now MR Landon sees me this way, it is so awkward and embarrassing. I am forced to put on a show so I give them a show, I walk seductively to the beat of the music all the way to the front of the stage, taking the few steps down and I walk straight to them. MR Holt puts his glass down on the table between them. MR Holt and MR Landon's gaze never leaves me. I specifically lock my eyes with MR Holt, I sway my hips and twirl around and then my eyes lock with MR Landon. I take MR Holt's glass of the scotch still left in it, I take a sip of it, leaving my lipstick on it where I put my lips to drink, then I pour it down over the front of my body. My eyes locking with MR Holt again. No expression. I turn around and I seductively walk up the steps, I finish my dance on the stage. "Give it up for Bumblebee!" the crowd loves me, I make my way backstage, and to my dressing room. I am in so much trouble not only by my boss, but a client has seen me and now MR Landon might think that I am trying to seduce him, because he is our client. The following day, I am in a white wrap dress, the length is just above my knees. Black heels and my hair is straight with curls at the ends. As I take the elevator to the thirtieth floor, people are coming and going on each floor. I am dreading to go to my desk, because I might be in massive trouble, I might even get fired for this. I reach the thirtieth floor, I walk to reception, Laura is typing away on her computer furiously. "Hey" I stand by her desk and she looks up at me. "Hey to you too. I don't think that there is time to chit-chat because MR Holt is in a foul mood, so I suggest you start walking to your desk" I know its because of me that he is in a foul mood. "Okay, I will hopefully see you at lunch then" I say as I make my way to my desk. MR Holt's office door is already open. I drop my bag inside my desk drawer. "In my office, Now Miss Gibbs!" I jump from his demand. Gosh he really is in a foul mood. I walk over to his office and I close the door behind me. I stand in front of his desk. He is wearing a black long sleeved pullover over his white shirt. His reading glasses in place. His frown in place as he looks at a page on his desk. I can sense his coldness. I bite my lower lip to brace whatever is coming my way next. "Was last night a game to you?" he asks looking up at me. 'No sir" "Then what the hell are you doing there?" "I got bills to pay" "Is this job not enough for you? If extra is what you need then I will give it to you" he stands up, taking off his reading glasses and throws it onto his desk as he walks around to stand in front of his desk. "You humiliated me and my company. You will never work or whatever you do at that place again. Am I clear?" his gaze burns into me. "Yes sir" I look down. "This company cannot afford any mishaps" "I didn't know that you would be there MR Holt, the first time I ever saw you was Monday evening. For the two years that I've been working there, I certainly haven't seen you there" I find my courage to speak to him. "Dammit Miss Gibbs, we got clients hanging out at that place, they will know who you are once they see you, is this job not good enough that you are up there stripping to get men's attention?" his words make me angry. He runs his hand through his hair. "No, and its not a strip club, its called dancing, and I dance, put up a performance that people would enjoy" MR Holt looks at me in disbelief "You know how to push all of my buttons" "I am just being myself" "That's enough, you will not set your foot at that place again Miss Gibbs, that is final, that will be all" he turns to face his desk, calming himself down and waiting for me to leave his office. I turn around and I walk to the door, I open it up, not bothering to close the door behind me as I walk out towards my desk. He can do it for all I care. He made me feel so cheap. I sit in my seat, switching on my computer. As the day goes on, I got my work done, and spoke with MR Holt when needed. The day came to an end, as I walk through the rotating glass door, it poured heavily with rain. I don't have a coat or an umbrella, I try hailing a cab for the last twenty minutes but they drive past me. This morning the weather was sunny, but somehow changed during the day. My dress is soaked from the rain, my hair is wet. Great, this is how better my day gets. "Miss Gibbs" I hear a familiar voice behind me, I turn around and I look up into MR Holt's magnetic blue eyes, he is holding a black umbrella over us. "I can take you home if you don't have an alternative drive home." "Its okay MR Holt, I can hail a cab" I say as the wetness of the rain drips from my face and down my skin, MR Holt notices the drops, his eyes travelling down to where it runs down my chest. "I insist, and you can't be this soaked for too long" he says looking at me politely. 'Okay, thank you MR Holt" I give him a polite smile. "Wait, hold on to this" he hands me the umbrella while he takes off his black coat. Watching me intently. He drapes his coat around me "You are very soaked, even I can see your underwear through your white dress" I freeze as he takes the umbrella from my hand. "Come on" he says, placing a hand at the small of my back as we walk to the parking lot. We walk in silence. We walk to his black Jaguar car, he opens the door for me and he waits until I get inside, and then he closes the door. I place my bag on my lap, he gets in the drivers seat, and starts the car. "Where do you live?" 'I live down Morris street, number twenty-eight" As we drive through an easy flow of traffic, I watch as the buildings pass by. Out of the corner of my eye, I see MR Holt looking over to me whenever he gets the chance to, after looking at me, I notice that he squirms in his seat, but we drive in silence. We finally pull up outside of my apartment. "Thank you MR Holt" I say as I want to take off his coat. "Wait, will you care to join me for dinner tonight?" he asks me a bit politely than I am used to, I start to hesitate "I want to get to know my assistant better, you did take a sip of my scotch before pouring it over the front of your body" his polite gaze locks with my eyes, I look down feeling the heat of embarrassment in my cheeks. "Okay but I need to change" he looks to the front of my dress that is soaked and he looks up quickly, he nods. "I will wait here for you" "Thank you MR holt" "It's Connor in public" I nod, I start to take his coat off. "Keep it, I don't want to see your underwear through your soaked dress, you can bring the coat tomorrow" he gives me a polite smile. My heart flutters. I get out of the car and I make my way to my apartment door, once I'm inside, I sigh and lean against my door. This is a caring side of him that I never saw before, maybe MR Holt does have a soft heart.
