Seeing Vera's bewildered expression, he thought it was a surprise between a couple and regretted his words which might have worsened the situation, possibly ruining their happiness. Steven had no intention, to drive a wrench between the couple.
She keenly caught the key point and continued to pressure him for valuable information, but she didn't get anything useful. After signing the contract, she asked David to investigate their cooperation.
"No need to investigate. I heard about it last night. Howard gave the bid for smart homes to Steven."
There was a hint of regret in the other person's words. As a businessman, he didn't understand this self-sabotage behavior.
"He had the upper hand but willingly handed it over. I wonder what the conditions were."
