Chapter 2
Oliver pov
The tint of lavender in the air pulls my attention towards the door, just one person I know has this peculiar scent. Olivia.
Just then the door bursts opened and the brunette walks in with a cherry smile on her face.
"Brother!" She rushed to my seat wrapping her arms around me in a warm hug.
Even with all the rules I've set down especially at work, Olivia has a way of breaking them without getting me in a fuss.
"Hi Liv." Pausing momentarily, I wait until she lets go of me before I continue with the papers on my desk.
"I've been gone for a month and what I'm greeted with is 'Hi, Liv.' You would've thought it was going to be something heart warming." She whined and I rolled my eyes at her.
"I've spoken to you every single day Liv, no need to be so dramatic." I replied fixing up the scattered papers in a neat pile.
Leaning back in the leather seat I studied the woman standing opposite me, my look alike, my female version, if it wasn't for our personalities difference you'll think she's my doppelganger.
Deep brown hair, honey brown almond eyes, oval face, High cheek bones, plump pink lips, in all she was beautiful. It's not a surprise anyway, to anyone, every living being that comes out of the Barrymore house is a spectacular work of art.
Liv stood in her custom made two piece tweed suit, her lips in a cute childish pout. I needed to appease her or she'll stay mad at me.
"Fine." pushing my chair backwards, I stepped out of the space and walked towards her, even in a six inch heel Olivia Barrymore got nothing on me.
"I miss you a lot Liv, even if we spoke on the phone all day. I miss you." It only took two seconds before she caved and broke out in a grin jumping at me. A loud chuckle escaped my lips as I held her in a bone crushing hug.
"See, I know that my brother loves me as much as I love him. Which is why mother sent me here." At the mention of mother, my face turned rigid and so did the rest of my body.
"Mother sent you here?" Olivia pulled away to stare at me. With a nod she held my face in her palms.
"Oliver-" I pushed away from her as I walked to the long glass windows. It should've crossed my mind that mother was behind Olivia's visit.
"You know how I feel about her sending you on errands." Olivia sighed.
"She didn't send me literally. She just asked if I could convince you to come for dinner." Turning around, my eyes met with her own.
"Dinner?"
"Yes dinner. It's been a while we'v-" I sent her a knowing look.
"Fine. I know, I know. It's has not been so accommodating, but, but this time it's going to be different. I promised her to be on her best behaviour today."
"Today?" I asked in disbelief. "It's today?" Olivia bit her lips, she was getting anxious.
"Yes, it's all sudden but I didn't think you'll mind and I checked in with your Secretary she said you had no plans after five today." she rushed out.
"So you've been planning all of this even before you got here? Liv, you should stop meddling in my life like this."
"I'm sorry but I can't stand seeing you two fight over the most trivial things." Olivia explained picking at her nails.
"Tell that to your mother, I'm ready to stop the fight when she's ready to stop bringing up my getting married."
"Please Ollie, do this for me. Just two hours."
"thirty minutes."
"One hour thirty minutes."
"Forty minutes." she gaped at me.
"One hour. That's as far as I can go." I finalized crossing my hands over my chest.
Olivia stared at me long and hard.
"Fine. You've got yourself a deal. Your bargaining skills are top notch." She praises.
"When you're leading a pack, bargaining is something you must learn."
"Speaking about packs, I heard about the attack at the base." My eyes narrowed in on her, she did have a way of finding things out without being there.
"It was taken care off, some outlanders thought it was nice to spy in on us."
"You got rid of them?" I nodded.
"All of them." Olivia stared at me like she wanted to say something I wouldn't like as much.
"Did you at least interrogate them first?"
"You know I don't interrogate unless it's really important, they-" I waved my hands around in the air. "weren't as important. There wasn't any need to. I already know where they were from."
"Oh. Uhmm, okay." She glanced down at her wrist. "It's about time I got back to rest, need an hour or three to nap this trip away." I chuckled.
"Yeah, you do." She rose to her feet.
"Well, see you by seven. Don't be late ollie." she added planting a small kiss to my cheek.
"I'll try not to be." I grinned walking her out the door.
The black jeep she came with drove away followed by three chain of cars, escorts, meant to protect her. When your brother is the Alpha to the crimson pack, you'll have so many allies and enemies.
"You sent for me." Adam, my beta and best friend said walking into the office.
"Yes. Is it done?"
Adam nodded making his long jet black hair bounce.
"We took care of it." Adam answered, peering at my face he could tell something is wrong. "What did Liv come for?"
"Apparently, she wants all of us to have dinner like a proper family."
"Oh boy." Adam mused under his breath.
"Yes, oh boy indeed."
"I can imagine how chaotic that would be."
"Exactly, that's why you'll be there with me." I shot him a grin.
"No. There is no way i'm going to tolerate your mother's glare." Adam groaned. "That woman hates me."
"She hates 99% of the people around."
"Why do I have to come?"
"Because you're family and I'm sure Olivia would want to see her lover boy too." I smirked at him.
