Chapter 4
Dinner was a flop, mother couldn't help it and poured her heart out on the table where she reminded me of the reasons why I need to find a luna. Even with Olivia pleading gaze it wasn't enough to stop me from storming out of the house with my fist clenched.
"Dude! Slow down, you're walking too fast." Adam pleaded as he tried to keep up.
I halted and turned around to face him.
"Look, I need to be alone right now, don't bother looking for me." I instructed and he nodded reluctantly.
I climb into the my car and turn on the engine, the car cried in response, and the deep resonating sound echoed throughout.
"At least tell me where you're heading too." Adam pleaded.
"I'm going to where I can forget all of this shit."

Maya Pov
The burial was long and uneventful, I mean I hadn't seen so much drama happening right before my eyes. Women from the pack cried like they lost their left legs, the men kept their faces still and unshaken. It was almost like I wasn't the one who lost a mother, they did.
I was glad when it all ended and I could get away from the judgy stare and brimming glare at my face. Dad wanted to me to stay back a little and go back to the house but I declined. Even he had shed a tear or two but I didn't. Not soft sobs or teary eyes and I wondered if I was okay.
Going through the dresses in my wardrobe, I grabbed a spaghetti strap dress, it was red, still and a present from stacy.
Feeling the need to go out to the neutral hub, the only thing I wanted to do was to get drunk, maybe it would get rid of this guilt in my chest. I wouldn't have to feel bad for not crying or showing any remorse.
Waiting for a cab to come by, my knees fidgeted. The growing urge to rise up and go back to the room was dancing in my mind when the car honked at me. Gulping away the fear, I walked towards the car, getting in I slammed the door shut and let out a deep sigh I didn't realized I was holding.
"First time going out?" the driver asked as he drove down the street.
"Yeah. It's my first time back here in almost a decade."
"And you're heading to the club already, sweet." He teased. I stared at him through the review mirror, he had curly black hair and sharp blue eyes.
"No, it's definitely not like that. Now that i'm thinking about it, I feel terrible that I'm trying to find comfort in Alcohol." the driver's eyes softened.
"We buried my mother today." I explained further leaning towards the window.
"Oh, I'm really sorry about that."
"Thanks." I replied. "Funny thing is that I didn't even cry and it made me look like a complete jerk." my cheeks were growing hot now.
"And you're going to the club to solve this guilt?"
"Yeah. I just want to feel something." I admitted.
"You will if you want to." he encouraged. "We're here," I fished into my purse for cash.
"No need. See it as a consolation from me to you." He turned giving me a warm smile.
"Uhm-" I chuckled. "I don't know what to say-"
"A thank you would be nice. Haven't heard the word today." he laughed at his own words.
"Well- Thank You."
"Greg-"
"Thank you Greg."
"Stay safe, human." He said to me as he drove off.
Did he know who I was? Brushing off the feeling I stared at the building in front of me, with neon lights going crazy, I glance at the line at the front. It was long and probably going to take forever to get inside. God, this is such a bad idea.
"I know right." a feminine voice responded to my not so quiet thought, twirling in my heels I spot the owner. In her black stilettoes and halter neck body con gown, she was really beautiful.
"Uhm- sorry but I don't think I know you-" I said as politely as possible.
"No you don't but your facial expression mirrors mine right now and I need company, so do you." the blonde walked up to me.
"Uhm- okay." I stuttered and she laughed.
"Come on. I think mike would allow us in if he saw you."
"Mike? Me? I don't understand." I frowned and she grinned again pulling me towards the entrance.
Before I could protest we had halted in front of the line where a lot of people were crying out in protest, but the girl was in the least bothered.
"Mikeey-" she battered her eye lashes at the hunk of a man in front of us.
"Kim." he replied monotonously and then he turned to me, his dark eyes looked me up and down before returning to Kim.
"Mikey, I was wondering if-"
"Who's your friend?" he interrupted and a sly smile formed on his lips as he stared at me. It didn't make my skin crawl instead I smiled back like I had known him making me feel like an i***t.
"This is -" she turned to me expectantly since I never told her my name.
"-Maya." I answered sharply.
"Maya." Kim said confidently shining her teeth at Mike.
"Is this your first time here Maya?" he asked me and I nodded.
"Its been a while since I've been around here. Just trying to get my mind off my mums death and all-"
"see the poor girl is grieving and the more you keep her out in line the more the sadness tear her away and i'm here to make sure she doesn't do that until tomorrow." Kim answered.
Mike studied us, I was already feeling guilty taking advantage of an emotional state.
Mum, forgive me for this. I prayed in my head.
"Come on in. I'm sorry for your loss Maya." Mike apologized warmly letting the rope free giving them space to pass.
"Thank you Mike." Kim yelled pulling me inside before I could mutter a thank you.
The loud heavy music from around bangs from all side sending my head into overdrive, the colored lights dance as the people inside moved, as if they were controlling how wild the light were moving. It smelled like alcohol and Different cologne mixed with the body heat, it took all of me to not get lost in it.
Thankfully, Kim was still holding my wrist and she guided me through expertly until we stopped in front of the dimly lit bar front.
"That's a good one, lying about your mothers death just to get us in, you're one heck of a girl Maya." Kim yelled hysterically over the loud music. She read my straight face and knew it wasn't fake.
"Oh s**t!" she cursed clamping her palms over her mouth dramatically. "I'm so sorry Maya, I thought- I thought-" she cursed again raking her hands through her blonde hair.
"Its fine Kim." I turned away facing the dancing crowd. Scanning through not knowing what exactly I was looking for, my eyes crossed path with deep honey brown eyes, far into one corner of the room, where people crowded around, let me rephrase.
Woman, half- naked women in clothes that can't be legally called clothes. But the owner of this brown eyes was staring right back at me, his eyes digging right into me were dark and mysterious, yet I could see how lonely they were.
"Hey Maya-" Kimberly called. "You've been staring for quite a while now-" she followed my line of vision and a loud gasp escaped her lips.
"You have quite the eyes to find someone like him." I turned to her quite interested in what she had to say.
"Do you know who he is?"
"You mean you don't?" she looked at me like that I had said was a taboo. "Right , you weren't joking when you said you were just coming back here. Anyways that's Oliver Wayne, billionaire playboy and-" leaning in closer to my ears she whispered. "ALPHA to the crimson pack."
I didn't know any of that. Staring at him, leader of the Crimson pack. I had no idea who they were, I had given up everything I knew about the werewolf tribe since I wasn't one of them.
"Okay, I don't know what you're doing but Oliver is coming this way." Kim said snapping me out of my thoughts.
True to her words, Oliver was heading in my direction, he was tall and strong, with the black dress shirt hugging his bulky frame and black jeans holding unto his long strong legs accompanied by black boots.
"Geez don't stare at him like that, let him come for you." Kim hissed in my direction as she arranged her dress and turned back to the bar tender.
Oliver didn't come for me, instead he leaned on the counter next to me as he made an order to the bar tender who nodded frantically.
My heart dropped a bit as he ignored me, and my shoulders sagged along with my lips. I played with my palms as I thought of what to do with it,
"Here." the guy next to me muttered lazily passing the small glass cup to me.
"Uh, thanks?" I eyed the glass, even though it was prepared right in front of me I wasn't stupid to accept a drink from a stranger. "But no thanks." I added. From the corner of my eye I could feel Kim making a surprised expression, I didn't want to look in her direction.
Turning to Oliver who was glaring at me hard, I took this moment to stare at his face. His beautiful lips were in a thin line, his honey eyes shaped in slants, with his chin straight, his cheek bones high. HE WAS A WORK OF ART.
"You don't say no to me, DRINK." he replied firmly and then walked away not looking back. I stared at his retreating figure and then back at the drink before me.
"Jesus! Maya! Oliver Wayne bought you a drink and you just frigging said no." Kim gushed.
"I dont accept drink from strangers."
"Oh darling, Oliver Wayne is an exception to every body." she answered "Are you drinking that or should i?" I held unto the glass not wanting her to take it since it made me feel special, with one silent prayer in my head, I swung the drink down my throat, tearing sipping by my face as it burned. With a violent jerk, I slammed the cup down and demanded more. I was here to not feel guilty for what happened today and I was going to forget her.
Drink after drink after drink, I kept on, not sure how I could hold back my liquor but I didn't care, I wanted a release and this was how I found my release.
Kim convinced my drunk self to the sweaty dance floor and for some reason obliged. With no proper dance wisdom, I swayed my hips flung my hands in the air and moved like I didn't just attend my mother's burial, like I didn't lose the woman who abandoned me when I was little, all because of some stupid bloodline I didn't have.
In my thoughts, I clumsily bumped into a hard wall of muscle, the cologne was strong enough to knock me out but enticing to keep me going.
Blind, I grabbed this wall, wrapping my hands around it and pressed my body against it.
"I don't care if I don't cry-" I yelled out clumsily. "I don't care if I don't feel bad for you dying- you deserve every piece of bad luck that came to you for what you did to me!" I screamed over the loud music my head pounding until I black out in the warm hard wall of muscle.
