A Misunderstanding

Chapter 5 Damien scratched his head, wondering if Daciana was from the Lycan Kingdom. However, he was confused because her scent differed from that of other Lycans. “So, Daciana, which kingdom do you come from?” Daciana smirked at him and decided to toy with him a bit. "Is that a trick question or what?" Daciana smiled with a mischievous glint in her eye. "Um, no, your scent is a little different," Damien replied with a hint of skepticism. "Is that really the case? How did you come to that conclusion?" "Honestly, I can't explain it, except that your scent is different from the normal lycan scent," Damien said, shrugging his shoulders. I'm just teasing you, Damien. I know my scent is different, but I am from the Lycan Kingdom. Damien was astonished, as he had never expected to speak with the last royal Lycan. "Are you the famous lost lycan princess?" asked an astonished Damien. "Why am I famous?" "Don't you know anything?" Damien asked in concern. "Am I supposed to know something?" Daciana asked, raising one eyebrow. "Never mind, but just be careful around the school; others might not be welcoming." "I will do that, thank you, Damien." "My pleasure, okay enough with the heavy, so what do you have now?" "History," Daciana replied as she flipped through her schedule. "Awesome, I have History too, let's go." Damien took the lead to the classroom because he was familiar with the school's layout. When they entered the classroom, everyone was already seated. Daciana noticed an empty seat beside a girl with red hair. She was just about to greet and introduce herself to the red-haired girl when a man's voice interrupted her. "You, go sit with Damien," the manish voice demanded. Daciana jerked her head up. She noticed a handsome, boyish face turned toward the girl next to her, with annoyance clearly etched on his features. He was a royal vampire; the golden eyes were a dead giveaway. However, the girl he was talking to did not look at him; she kept staring at her phone. "Did you not hear what I said, mutt?" The vampire prince snapped at the red-haired girl, surprising her; her initial shock quickly turned to anger. "Get off my face, leech," she retorted, baring her teeth. The vampire prince saw that as a challenge. His movements were a blur as he held the werewolf girl in a chokehold. The werewolf girl tried to maneuver, but it was futile as the vampire prince tightened his grip on her neck. "Who do you think you are talking to, mutt?" the vampire prince asked as he raised his hand for a swift blow. Daciana knew she needed to act quickly, but she was also aware that she couldn't roughly remove the prince's hand, or he might snap the werewolf's neck. Daciana was not ready to reveal her powers, but she needed to protect her future subjects at that moment. However, she threw caution to the wind and moved quickly, holding the vampire's hand. She used her powers to calm the vampire prince down. Daciana wasn't concerned that the vampire would discover her gift; her primary focus was ensuring that the werewolf wouldn't meet her ancestors anytime soon. The vampire prince released the werewolf girl, who collapsed on the floor, coughing and gasping for air, tears streaming down her face. The vampire prince swiftly exited the classroom. The werewolf was recovering from shock and amazement. Amidst the chaos, a profound sense of disbelief washed over her as she recalled Daciana's daring act. With remarkable courage and skill, she had confronted the vampire prince. In that heart-pounding moment, Daciana had not only vanquished him but had done so in a way that ultimately saved her life. The blend of awe and gratitude surged within her, her heart racing as she contemplated the bravery it took to face such darkness. Daciana's actions were nothing short of heroic, leaving a lasting impression that would forever change her understanding of loyalty and sacrifice. "Thank you," she said to Daciana, tears streaming down her face. Daciana helped her up. "Anytime, I'm Daciana by the way." “Mingan, thank you for saving me just now.” She also introduced herself to Daciana. “It’s been great getting to know you, Mingan! I’m curious—what inspired you to provoke a vampire on the verge of coming of age?”
