Philip Anderson, the man who’d been primarily responsible for Vin’s mother running away from home, for all those events that had led up to Vin’s birth at all, had refused to say another word. “Not here,” he’d cautioned Vin, glancing over his shoulder as if he expected Lionel Reyes to come charging down the hall, determined to prevent the two from talking.
Doing his best to swallow his curiosity, Vin had nodded, let it pass. They had gone, then, into the details of the merger. Anderson had tutored Vin in those various functions he was expected to carry out as liaison, and gave him a tour of the building.
