"You know why I brought you out tonight, right?"
I startle out of my gazing into the crowded street, finally aware that the car has stopped moving. The question is quite absurd. "Of course. You want me to get completely blasted so that I can forget that my sister is an even bigger b***h than I remember."
Dominic's hazel eyes sparkle in the dim light of the car, smiling a bit with true amusement. An emotion that I was not even aware he was able to possess. His other emotions consist of cockiness, irritation, and lust. But to see Dominic almost looking fond of my remark nearly makes me do a double take.
"What?" I grumble insecurely. "You think just because she woke up, she should be treated differently? I've got a lifetime of beef to pick with her."
