Emily couldn't believe the way she felt about Lex. She had never fallen for someone so fast, and it scared her.
As they spent more time together, Emily began to notice that Lex was hiding something from her. He would get mysterious phone calls and leave the room, his expression dark and foreboding.
One night, Emily decided to confront Lex about his secrets. She waited until they were alone in his mansion, and then she asked him directly.
"What's going on, Lex?" she asked, her voice firm. "You're hiding something from me, and I want to know what it is."
Lex's expression turned cold, his eyes glinting in the dim light. "I'm just trying to protect you, Emily," he said, his voice low and husky. "You don't need to know about my business."
Emily felt a surge of frustration. She knew that Lex was involved in something shady, and she wanted to know what it was.
"I deserve to know the truth," she said, her voice rising. "I'm not some fragile flower who can't handle the truth."
Lex's expression softened, his eyes filling with a mixture of admiration and concern. "You're right," he said, his voice low. "I'll tell you everything, Emily. But you have to promise me one thing."
"What's that?" Emily asked, her heart pounding in her chest.
"You have to promise me that you'll leave if you don't like what you hear," Lex said, his eyes burning with intensity. "I don't want you to get hurt, Emily."
Emily hesitated, unsure of what to do. She knew that she was taking a risk by getting involved with Lex, but she couldn't help herself.
She was falling for him, hard.
