Alessandro "Lex" DeMarco stood at the edge of the rooftop bar, gazing out over the glittering city skyline. His mind was a million miles away, lost in thoughts of the family business and the latest threat to their empire. As he sipped his whiskey, a commotion at the entrance caught his attention. A young woman, her long blonde hair shining in the dim light, was arguing with the bouncer. "I'm telling you, I'm on the list!" she exclaimed, her voice rising. The bouncer nodded, stepping aside to allow the woman to enter. Lex watched as she smiled, her eyes sparkling with gratitude. "Thank you," she said, her voice husky. Lex nodded, his eyes never leaving hers. "You're welcome," he said. "I'm Lex." "Emily," she replied, her hand extending. Lex took her hand, feeling a spark of electricity as their palms touched. He knew in that moment that he wanted to know more about Emily, to uncover the secrets behind her bright smile and sparkling eyes. But as he looked into her eyes, he knew that he had to be careful.
