Preface
This story is my own to tell but I do so only for the sake of my daughter, that if I were to die then she becomes an orphan. The only surviving heir of the Alpha and Luna of the Crescent Moon Pack. Why do I fear for my life? My husband’s murderer and his former-Beta are hunting me down. They are forcing me to decide between becoming an Outcast or marrying the new would-be Alpha. How can I marry the man who murdered my husband? How can I choose to be an Outcast, never to return to my home? This seems as an impossible choice to make, this is the most cruel ultimatum.
How long have they been plotting my husband’s demise? How long has his brother lusted for the Alpha position, the power?
I feel the flutter kicks of my unborn child and tears prick my eyelids as my hand presses into my stomach. I cannot choose for myself, I must choose for my unborn child.
I feel the tears trickle down my cheeks as my throat constricts and my chest tightens. The grief is overwhelming. Oh, my sweet love, how could this happen to us? I do not fight the grief at this moment, there is no one watching me as I curl up on the floor and release the flood of sorrow, of anger. No one is watching me because they are celebrating the rise of the new Alpha, congratulating him in the great hall of the Pack House. Is the loyalty of the Pack so fickle? Are they not aware of the betrayal that has taken place? …No, no, they are unaware. They are oblivious of the scheming and manipulation that had taken place. Right?
