Should I Take Her to Bathe?

"Emma, come, try the rose chicken strips I specially made for you," Zuo Mama said happily, serving a generous helping into Emma's bowl, her face beaming with joy. "Oh, thank you, Zuo Aunt." How touching! I haven't felt the warmth of home in a long time, Emma thought, glancing at the silent man beside her. She couldn't understand why his demeanor changed so drastically when she mentioned the Zuo family address. At first, he seemed disinterested and cold, but he would at least ask her some questions. Now, he didn’t even bother to look her way. "Emma, we’re practically family now! Why are you still calling me Zuo Aunt? You should start calling me Mom!" Zuo Mama said candidly, assuming that since Emma was looking for the Zuo family, she must have agreed to their wishes. "Uh?" Call her Mom? Emma paused, unable to process that. Meanwhile, Ethan suddenly slammed his bowl down heavily. Emma jumped in surprise and quickly looked over, only to meet his gaze filled with impatience. "Oh dear, you’re so impulsive; you scared Emma!" Alex complained to his wife. "Zuo Uncle, no, it’s okay. I’m actually very happy that Zuo Mama likes me so much." Emma collected her thoughts and spoke sincerely. "I’ve always lacked maternal love since I was a child and have always wished for a mother’s care. Now, I finally feel that love from Zuo Mama." "Really?" Zuo Mama's eyes lit up. "Then you should definitely start calling me Mom. If you think calling me Mom directly feels awkward, you can start by calling me Zuo Mama and him Zuo Dad!" "Is that alright?" Although the question was directed at Zuo Mama, her gaze flicked toward Ethan’s handsome profile, which made her heart flutter. Zuo Mama noticed Emma's glance toward her son and couldn’t help but smile. "Zhefeng, Emma is asking you a question," Alex reminded his son. Ethan, who had been silent, stirred his rice without looking up and said, "It seems I don’t have a choice, do I? You and Mom have already decided this, right?" This was also the most frustrating part for him. Hearing this, Zuo Mama's anxious heart relaxed. Her son’s words were like a reassuring pill. Could she start planning the wedding now? "Emma, since Zhefeng has no objections, you might as well call us Mom and Dad directly," Zuo Mama pushed further. Just as Ethan was pouring a small bowl of soup into his mouth, he nearly spat it out at the table. "Mom, you really are too—" "Too smart, right? Did you just say what’s on your mind?" Zuo Mama didn’t give her son a chance to backtrack. Then she turned to Emma, who was blushing like a ripe tomato, "Emma, don’t worry. Zhefeng may have a bit of a sour face, but once you get to know him, you’ll find he’s actually a passionate man. He will treat you well." Emma smiled awkwardly, unsure of how to respond. Finally unable to endure any longer, Ethan slammed his chopsticks down on the table and stood up. "Zhefeng, are you going out? Take Emma with you!" Zuo Mama’s excited voice called from behind. Ethan frowned helplessly. "Does that mean I have to take her with me when I shower?" Caw, caw, caw... A crow flew by... Three thick black lines appeared on the foreheads of the three people at the table...
