How we met
Kevin
Steve and I were talking s**t to one another about hitting the slopes and how much snow we were expecting to get this weekend. It was Wednesday so the weekend was still far off, but living in Colorado you know snow comes nightly to all the ski resorts. “Dude, I’m feeling Breck for this weekend. What are you thinkin?”
“Yeah, but I’m going to have to let me wolf out. He’s been extra agitated today and I’m not sure as to why.” I replied as a scrub my pale face. Just then the fragrant smell of sweet peas and vanilla came through the front door of our small health office.
“Hi, I’m here for an auto injury.” A sweet melodious voice quietly reached my wolfs perked ears. He was rolling with happiness as he chanted one simple word… “MATE”
Steve stood up and stretched, “That should be my new appointment. She was recently in a car wreck with a city worker and I guess is pretty messed up.” Just then Sally popped her head around the corner confirming his suspicions. Out of pure curiosity I followed him out to the front and stopped dead in my tracks. Her long wavy brown hair cascaded down her back. She had a nice firm ass and curves to kill. And trust me I about had a damn heart attack when she turned those bright baby blue my way, but that wasn’t the only thing that had me pausing. She was sporting a very round very pregnant belly. My wolf and I stood confused by what we saw.
Sally saw my look and pulled me aside. Her slender figure was still strong as she also had a wolf. She was my pack and knew something was wrong. “Kevin what the hell is wrong?!” she demanded in a harsh whisper.
“Sal, its her… she’s my mate… But she’s pregnant and….”
“Married” Sally stated in a matter of fact tone.
Steve ended up referring her to my physical therapy after her baby was born, so my wolf and I got to befriend her and protect her from afar. We shared many jokes and I fell in love with her personality. Every time she would bat those big blue eyes at me I almost fell over. She had no filter and often said inappropriate things, but they always made me laugh. I could feel her attraction to me and I wished more than ever we could act on it, but she knew nothing of my world and had a world of her own. I did what any good mate would do… What was best… I let her live her life as a human instead of completing her and gifting her a wolf of her own.
Once she was released from my care after eight months of therapy my wolf and I fell into a depressed state. You know those ones where you just go through the motions, hardly able to eat, you just sleep work snack and repeat. Soon Steve and Sally were concerned and my wolf was fading away. The worst part was that I couldn’t bring myself to care too much. My mate had left and was probably living happily with her human family and she’ll never know how much she meant to me.
