GRIFFINS POV No matter how many times I brush my teeth, I still smell like alcohol. f*****g great, Mia was in the hospital, and I got drunk with Dawn. I dressed in jeans and a plain white T-shirt. I feel nervous to see her. She’s probably going to tell me it’s over and she never wants to see me again. f**k that, I can’t handle her breaking me again, I’m going to cancel. I tried to dial her number, but can’t seem to go through with it. Stop being such a baby and get it over with. I said to myself. “were to?.” Lucas asks when I came down the stairs.  “I’ve sent you the location.”  Lucas opened the door for me, just after Gretha placed a cup of coffee in my hands.  “Sir, your mother called this morning, she wants to know what she can bring for Christmas?.” f*****g great. My mother would find the perfect time to come and be the hero of my story.  “Tell her I’m not here for Christmas if she calls again.” Gretha nodded in repeat.  “Sir is this not the bar you were a few months ago?.” Lucas asks. I glared at the familiar bar, and the lady I slept with is standing outside.  “Don’t stop here.”  “where should I stop Sir,” Lucas asks, driving slowly.  “Passed the bar don’t stop here.” “fuck.” I shouted. Is she pregnant? Fuck, what a f**k. I gave her money to buy some pills, what a f**k did she do with the money. I breathed in and out a few times. Ok, relax, maybe it’s just a coincidence.   “what’s wrong, Sir.”  “nothing Lucas.” I scowled. Stop at the other side of the hotel.”  Lucas made a U-turn, and the woman whose’s name I don’t even remember spotted me and looked surprised. She stared right into my eyes. f*****g great.  “don’t stop,” I said again to Lucas, who looks confused. I pulled out my phone from my pocket and dialed Mia’s number.  “hey.”  “Hey,” I said back.  “I’m running late. Do you think you can maybe meet me at my place? I should be there in half an hour if it’s ok with you?.”   “I don’t have a car remember, and the Taxis are not driving today, it’s a public holiday.” s**t f**k. I said in my mind. “ok, I will let Lucas pick you up.”  “isn’t he driving you around?.” I’m starting to get annoyed with the 100 questions.  “yes, no, Just be ready he should be there in half an hour.”  “ok,” she said, and I felt relieved. Honestly, I have no energy to fight with her about a f*****g driver.  “you can drop me off at home, and fetch Mia, don’t go with this car, take the Porch.”  “excuse me, Sir?.” of course he would find it surprising. I never let him drive the porch.  “ stop asking f*****g questions and just do as I say.”  Lucas nodded and drove back home.  As soon as he dropped me off, I made my way inside the house and opened up a bottle of whiskey.  I dialed Dawn’s number while pouring the whiskey down my throat.  “ Griffin, what do you want, I’m not drinking with you again.” she barked into the speaker.  “ I don’t have much time, Mia is coming here, please sent me the private investigator’s number we used to find Mia.”  “ why?.”  “ don’t ask questions, f**k, just sent it to me.”  “ you know what Griffin, you could ask nicely.” and she dropped the phone in my ear.  I took another shot of whiskey and placed the bottle back into the drawer.  I paced back and forth, walking in circles in the study room when I heard Lucas pulling up the driveway. “Thank you, Lucas.” I heard Mia. I run upstairs to splash some water on my face and almost squeezed the whole tube of toothpaste into my mouth. I stopped at the starecase where Gretha is helping Mia to sit on the couch.  “ are you comfortable Ms. Johnson?.”  Gretha asks Mia when she placed a pillow under Mia’s foot.  “ thank you Gretha.” and she smiled. The most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life.  “ Hey.” she greeted when she spotted me staring at her.  “ hey,” I said awkwardly back.  “ Are you coming down? Or just gonna stare at me?.” she giggles. I so badly just want to pick her up, and take her to the room and make love to her, the whole f*****g day. I walked downstairs. Lucas glared at me and my heart started jumping like a fox. f**k this, I need to sort things out with Mia first. I will worry about that later.  “ Can I get you something to drink?.”  “ yes, thank you,” I called Gretha to bring juice to the living room.  “ let’s go to the living room, it’s more comfortable there.” I picked her up before I could help myself, her eyes big but she’s not fighting it.  “ you smell like alcohol?.” she said looking right into my eyes.  “ yes, I had a few drinks.”  “ it’s not even 10 yet.” she scowled at me.  “ I was in a meeting.” I lied. “ Oh, ok that explains it.”  I placed her on the long couch and placed her legs on top of me. Her left leg is broken.  “ Are you in pain?.”  “ No, I had some pain killers before I came here.”  “that’s good,” I replied nervously. I have no idea what to say to her.  “what did you want to talk about?.” f*****g i***t. Why would I ask her to do the one thing I was avoiding?  “I’ve missed you,” she said to my surprise, and I can’t help to smile.  “I’ve missed you more.” I leaned forward to kiss her, and she gladly kisses me back. Our mouths molded together. How I have missed the familiar taste of her mouth. The smell of her hair and her perfect body. She moaned and I can feel she wants me to. I have been dreaming about this day since she got kidnapped.  I have to pay attention to every detail, I have no idea what will happen after this.  “I have missed you so much.” I breathed into her mouth before I kiss her on the forehead. She doesn’t respond, only smiled.  “We have to talk.” she finally said. My heart rate drops. Her beautiful face holds a frown, and I can’t help but wonder why she chose to talk now.  “Ok, I said, taking the glass of juice from Gretha to give to her.  “I know you did everything in your power to find me, and that Monica’s death was no one’s fault, except Dwayne’s. He was determined to make you pay, but you have to understand that Noah helped me to escape, and I need to see him.”  And just like that, she spoiled the mood.  “f**k no, you’re not going near that bastard.”  “Griffin, please?. I have to thank him. If it wasn’t for him, and Monica I wouldn’t have been alive today. He shot his brother to save me.” I let out a big sigh. Maybe she’s right.  “ok, but I’m going with you.” she smiled and kissed me.  “thank you.”  “so what do we do now,” I ask. Hoping for the answer that I want to hear, that she loves me, and wants to be with me. “for now, I would like to take every day as a blessing, and you are one of my blessings, in you own way.” she grinned, and I can’t help but laugh.  “So does it mean that you forgive me?”  “no, it means that I’m willing to try. You can start making up for it, by buying pizza.” she knows I hate pizza, so of course she would ask for Pizza.  “Your wish is my command.” I kissed her palms and made my way to the study to order some pizza.  I received a text message from Dawn with the investigator’s number. I responded with just thanks. This will ruin everything with Mia, if this girl is really pregnant with my child. I dial his number and hope Mia doesn’t make her appearance.  “I have a job for you, would you mind coming by the office tomorrow?”  “sure, text me the time.” I drop the call and ordered the pizza. When I got back to the lounge Mia was fast asleep. She looks so peaceful. She is my savior and I hope I don’t f**k this up again. She looks like an angel, an angel I want to keep safe and protect. I throw a blanket over her and kissed her forehead. I love you Mia, I hope you know that. I never meant for this to happen, none of it.
