2 The next thing I know, it’s morning. Long beams of sunlight shift across the cave floor. Tempest and I cuddle together, his forehead touching mine as he sleeps. I picture the shape our dragon bodies create, and I realize it’s a heart. My chest warms at the thought. Shifting position, I scooch my head back a bit. The movement’s not enough to break our heart-shape, but it gives a better view of Tempest. In many ways, his dragon-face reminds me of his human one. There are the same high-cut cheekbones. A crown of spikes mimics his wavy black hair. There are the same wide eyes that convey rage or lust with the barest glance.
