When I first laid eyes on him, I knew from that moment that I would eventually marry him. I was fourteen years old, and in middle school at the time. One day, after school, I hung out with a mutual friend, who had then introduced me to a real twin flame. Someone I never knew could possibly exist, but that second time had stopped. My eyes were glued to him, and nothing else mattered. The longer we talked, the more I fell in love with him. We walked and talked for hours; I showed him my old hangout spots, and my old church. I remember laughing the whole night long. Of course, we had partied a little bit. It was a night I will remember. As the day fell into night, he took us to his place to chill for the night. I can recall listening to music and listening to laughter filling the room. I remember the first time that I finally felt that I belonged. The liquor hit my stomach quickly, as the night quickly fell upon us. This is just another sappy love story, I am sorry to say, but the world deserves to know; fairy tale relationships do exist. Now not every relationship is perfect, but I feel the spark when he kisses me, and I never stop smiling around him. He is my prince charming. However, I laid on the floor next to my friend, but it was the most uncomfortable thing I had ever felt at that moment. As the hours passed by, I tossed, and I turned until I knew everyone else had fallen asleep. I jumped into bed with him as quickly as I could and snuggled close to him. I have never fallen asleep so fast in my life. It was so peaceful and soft, but to my amazement, when I woke up, he was gone. I tripped over the empty bottles of vodka and whiskey, I tumbled into the kitchen, but no one was there. I woke my friend up, and we went to the park up the road to plan our next adventure. When we finally made it to the benches, her phone began to ring. “Hello?” “Hey, sorry I dipped out, I didn’t mean to upset you, she freaked me out.” “That wasn’t cool, and you owe me. Come hang out with us today. We are at the park by the house we woke up in.” “Not happening, she crawled into bed with me.” “Please, she will not stop talking about you. I think she really likes you.” “Fine, I will come hang out for a few hours. Please invite another guy for me to hang out with ?” “Fine, see you later.” “Peace.” I heard every word and smiled from ear to ear. I was excited to see him again. We all hung out together all week long. It was an adventure I will never forget. A week filled with so much laughter; I even went home and told my mom that one day I was going to marry that boy. Of course, she thought it was like any other time I had a crush on a boy. I lived that one week to the fullest. I smiled every chance I got to see him. We walked hand in hand by the end of the week, but just like that. He was gone; he had ghosted me without any hesitation. I continued on living my life for the next four years. I had plenty of relationships at that time, but no one made me smile like that boy from the park. I was in a serious relationship and I turned eighteen. I remember a few days before my birthday; I ran away from home to be closer to my new man. I was so miserable that I signed myself up for dating sites. Three years without a showing smile, only the broken tears remain. I could still feel that laughter from when I was a kid, from the boy who I crawled into bed with.
