Meanwhile, inside the royal castle lived King Darius Valen and his twin daughters, Kaya and Yuna. Both girls were under thirteen and had yet to develop their secondary genders. Kaya had always possessed a fierce look, but what made her truly unusual was her striking red hair, a rare trait in Ravelle. Yuna, on the other hand, had a gentle and delicate appearance. The two sisters were complete opposites. Kaya, the elder twin, was rough and hot-tempered, while Yuna was calm, gentle, and kind. Because of their different personalities, everyone seemed to prefer Yuna over Kaya. Both girls were twelve years old, and their thirteenth birthdays were only two weeks away. Kaya, however, cared little about what others expected of her. She loved watching the Alpha Knights train in the castle's training grounds, fascinated by their strength and courage. Gifts and presents filled the palace, and the celebration continued throughout the day. But everyone was waiting for one thing: the twins' secondary genders. The royal doctor had taken their DNA samples earlier that morning and left to conduct the tests. Their results would be announced to the entire kingdom at midnight. When midnight finally arrived, the villagers gathered outside the palace while the royal family sat in their seats above the crowd. Kaya sat beside her father, with Yuna on his other side. Deep in her heart, Kaya wished for the impossible. She wanted to become an Alpha. She wanted the strength and powers of the Alpha Knights she admired so much. But she knew that could never happen. No female had ever been an Alpha. The royal doctor stepped forward, holding the test results. He cleared his throat. “Hmm... According to the results, Princess Yuna is an Omega.” The crowd erupted into cheers. Yuna smiled shyly as King Darius looked at her proudly. The doctor then turned to the second result. “Princess Kaya...” He paused. The crowd fell silent. “I... I don't know how to explain this. I've never encountered anything like it before.” Whispers spread through the crowd. “Perhaps she's a Beta.” “Betas are rare too.” The doctor took a deep breath. “She is an... Alpha.” Silence. Kaya's eyes widened. Her dream had come true. But instead of cheering, everyone stared at her in shock. King Darius suddenly stood and snatched the papers from the doctor's hands. He read through the results, his expression growing darker. “This is impossible.” He threw the papers to the ground. “A female cannot be an Alpha! This is gibberish!” “Your Majesty, I assure you—” “Do the test again!” Darius ordered angrily. “I want the results immediately” He turned to his daughters and took them back into the palace. Kaya followed silently. She had finally become what she had always dreamed of being. But she had no idea that the very thing she had wished for would make her father see her differently. Kaya sat on the edge of her bed, staring at her hands in disbelief. An alpha. She was an alpha. A huge smile slowly spread across her face as excitement filled her chest. Kaya jumped from her bed and hurried towards the throne room to find him. But before she reached it, she heard voices coming from inside. She slowed down. Curious, Kaya quietly moved closer and peeked through the doorway. Her father was standing with the royal doctor. They were arguing. “I can't believe this,” her father said angrily. “You have to redo the test. Kaya cannot be an alpha. She's an omega. This is an abnormality.” The doctor remained calm. “Your Majesty, I have already repeated the test five times. The result has remained the same every time. Princess Kaya is an alpha.” Her father's expression hardened. “She is a girl!” “That is precisely why this is so unusual,” the doctor explained. “She is the first female alpha ever recorded in our history.” Kaya's smile disappeared. She continued listening. “Are you telling me my daughter will be sent to war?” her father demanded. “Will she develop powers? Will she be expected to fight beasts on the battlefield?” “It is possible,” the doctor replied. “However, there is still another possibility.” Her father looked at him. “What possibility?” “The alpha trait may only be temporary. Normally, an alpha develops their powers around the age of ten. Princess Kaya is already thirteen, yet she has shown no sign of them.” “So she could become an omega?” “Yes. If she reaches sixteen without developing her powers, there is a possibility that the alpha trait will disappear and she will return to being an omega.” Relief washed over her father's face. But the doctor quickly added, “Do not place too much hope in that possibility, Your Majesty.” His expression became serious. “We must make sure she does not awaken her powers. Because if she does…” He paused. “She will permanently become an alpha.” Kaya stood frozen outside the throne room. Her heart sank. Her father wasn't proud of her. He saw her as an abnormality that needed to be fixed. She lowered her head, fighting back tears. She didn't want to become an omega. She wanted to be an alpha. She wanted her powers. She wanted to fight beasts, wield a sword, and prove that she could be strong. Then I'll develop my powers before I'm sixteen. Kaya wiped her tears and quietly ran away before anyone could notice her. Inside the throne room, the king continued speaking with the doctor. “There has to be a way to prevent her from awakening her powers,” the king said. The doctor hesitated. “There is... one possibility. Though I cannot guarantee that it will work.” The king looked at him. “What is it?” “Since Princess Kaya is the first female alpha in history, we don't know exactly how her body will respond to alpha pheromones. However, it is possible that exposure to the pheromones of a male alpha could suppress her alpha trait and cause her body to develop as an omega.” The king frowned. “So she would need an alpha husband?” “It is only a theory, Your Majesty. We have never encountered a female alpha before, so there is no evidence that this would actually work.” The king fell silent. “But an alpha cannot marry another alpha.” “That is another problem.” The king sighed. There seemed to be no simple solution. Still, he refused to give up. “Then I'll find a way,” he said. And somewhere far from the throne room, Kaya had already made her own decision. She would become an alpha. No matter what.
