John and basil backstory:Part 3

During the congratulate party, basil lekapenos was officially promoted to the ranks of a general. From now on basil could lead his own army without having a master ordering him. He also received a large amount of land, which he could govern.

Basil visited the royal palace alone, days after the ceremony.

Basil was taken to kings bedroom by some guards. Basil gets to meet romenos all alone to talk.

Romanos wanted to execute him directly at the spot but wanted to know why he is here and what basil wanted to do. Romenos did not wanted the other generals from finding out about why he massacred every single people of that city. The entire reputation of romenos would have been destroyed if that were to happen. Basil already knows that romenos wants to get rid of him and romenos was nervous about basils existence.

Basil tells romanos to calm down and told him that he had no plans of leaking the real truth to the public.

If that is not what you want, then why have you joined the army and already got promoted to the ranks of a general.  Do you wanna kill me and avenge your mother?

No father, i mean emperor romanos.

I just want to clarify something. I do not hate you for killing my mother, it is the complete opposite. What my mother did was wrong, she got what she deserved. She became very greedy after giving me birth, she became greedy enough to even risking her own child. Even though she realised her mistake and saved me at the last moment, that still does not make me hate you. You were just realistic by wanting to eliminate her. I would have done the same if i were you.

Huh, so what do you want from me?

I do not need money or anything, i just want your acknowledgement. I just want you to tell everyone that i also am a royal family member. I have already been promoted to the ranks of a general. 

You have already proved yourself right. The way you view things and judge it is very similar to mine. None of my other childrens have this type of personality. 

Okay basil lekapenos, i will announce it to all the members of the court about you. You can officially call yourself my son. I would also like you to hide the secrets about your mother. Just tell everybody that you were kidn*pped by some other small nations and finally returned to the kingdom few years ago. 

Okay lord romanos, i shall take my leave.

Basil Lekapenos was officially acknowledge as the son of emperor romenos the second.

Basil grew in power even more and slowly he was reaching the same position as john.

John at this point has become one of the most influential leader of the whole kingdom.

Suddenly a news breaks the peace which was within the kingdom, the long power struggle between the sons of romanos was coming to an end. His son constantine had become the most powerful of all. Fearing that Romanos would allow Constantine VII to succeed him instead of them, his younger sons Stephen and Constantine arrested their father on 20 December 944, carried him off to the Prince's Islands and compelled him to become a monk. When they threatened the position of Constantine VII, however, the people of Constantinople revolted, and Stephen and Constantine were likewise stripped of their imperial rank and sent into exile to their father. Romanos died on 15 June 948. Constantine VII succeed him to the throne and after a decade he dies. The son of constantine basil II becomes the new king and even he dies only after 4 years of reigning. The kingdom fell into despair and the strongest generals were looking at the capital to conquer it and become the new king.

John tzimiske warned every other generals to stand back or they would face him. John tzimiske gathered huge numbers of soldiers under him and put pressure on the royal court. John urged his uncle nikephoros to succeed the throne. Nikephoros accepts it and on 16th August 963 , nikephoros was crowned as the emperor.

John wanted to stop the war with the abbasids and with other small nations. Nikephoros accepted the request before becoming the emperor, but he changed his mind. Nikephoros loved war, he continued to create more chaos. John even at a time refused to take participate in a war. 

One day a monk visits the kingdom of byzentinum, he was from a small kingdom which recently got conquered by the spanish dynasty in europe. The monk claimed himself to have extraordinary abilities and even displayed some infront of the soldiers. He asked them to take him to the king.

The monk goes to meet the king and starts showing him unbelievable stuff that the king has never seen.

The monk was creating fire out of thin air and throwing flaming balls. The emperor nikephoros becomes very pleased with him and asks him if he was a wizard.

THe monk smirks and asks for a secret meeting with him. 

THe monk reveals that he is from a small kingdom which was destroyed by the spanish dynasty. The spanish people has not only captured the kingdom, they have tortured the citizens to death, r***d the womens and killed them infront of their children. The monk was very upset over it and has come to constantinople to seek help.

The monk introduces some ancient books to the king and tells him to read it. Nikephoros immediately starts reading it and starts laughing.

“Is this for real? Gods and angel? Ahaha" nikephoros laughs.

Wait, is it really for real? How is this possible.

Everything is possible, o wise king. Have you not see what i could do?

If all that is true, then you could have destroyed the spanish on your own. Why do you need me?

That is because i am not allowed to. I would have gotten killed if i tried to stop that invasion on my own. 

So what do you want me to do?

I would like you to choose 4 more worthy people and make a deal with them. The angels i mean.

Making you guys eternals would be the only way to make you attack the spanish and help me retaking my kingdom. You are a king, the angels would not trust you enough and make you an eternal. They would want few other higher ranked people to become an eternal to maintain the power balance within the kingdom. That is why you would need to make more people eternal.

I get it, i already have thought about four people.
