Life of Joshua

Meanwhile in some other part of the world:

A man named Joshua is living a tough life. He is poor and doesn't have a decent job. He does have something which motivates him though. It is his girlfriend called Lyla.

He often goes to his girlfriends house to ease his mind. But recently, she has started to act differently. She started to ignores his calls and doesn’t call back. She is apparently dating a guy who has a better job and earns more than him. One day, he bumps into her while shopping. She tries ignoring him and when he chases her and asks what the problem was, she just tells him to forget about her.

“It is over Joshua, we cannot meet anymore. I have found someone better, someone who can fullfill my wishes. We are breaking up. Goodbye.”

The sudden change of behavior has made Joshua rethink his decisions in life. Even after all the struggles he had in life, having a girlfriend was what helped him keep his sanity. Now everything is over. He does not have anyone who would look after him, anyone who admires him, anyone who loves him.

“Maybe I should just die, I don't deserve to live anymore. I am a complete loser.

O Lord, who you not love me? Do you hate me? If not, then why did my life turned out like this. I have nothing in this life. My parents kicked me out of the house, my older brother despises me. I have no friends, I have nobody. My girlfriend Layla, she was the one person who ever admired me. Now even she has left me. So, I am going to kill myself. I hope you are happy about it. I am coming for you.” Joshua says while looking at the sky. He was on the edge of a bridge. He jumps into the river, wanting to kill himself. As he was drowning, he regretted doing it. He changes his mind and screams to get helped. But it was late at night and nobody was there to save him. Before he drowns, he begs God to help him. But he drowns into the river.

Suddenly he sees a flash of light, it gets brighter and brighter and he loses consciousness.

He finds himself on a bed, he thinks it is heaven and gets relieved.

He laughs as he thought he was going to hell for speaking ill of God. But suddenly a girl walks into his room with warm water. She sees him and runs out of the room, calling someone else and letting the other person know that he woke up. Then a tall muscular man walked in, he seemed to be the father of that girl. They all looked like people from medieval era. Joshua was surprised and thought everyone in heaven wears them.

“You finally woke up, we have so many questions to ask you.” The man tells joshua.

“Who are you people? My servants? You guys look like humans.” Joshua smirks, angering the muscular man.

“Whom did you call servants? You i***t, we found you near the river. You were drowning and i saved you. Where are you from? You don’t look like people from here or nearby villages, you have some weird clothes on you.” The mans word confuses Joshua and he laughs, thinking it was a joke. But when his eyes go towards the window, he sees many old houses that resembles medieval era houses. He also sees many people, looking just like them.

The muscular man asks more questions but realizes that joshua was not in a good condition to answer him. So he decides to give him some lone time.

“He lisa, if he tries anything funny, call me and i will chop his head off.” The man leaves.

Lisa, the daughter sits in a chair and starts staring at joshua. He has clothes which are something she has never seen.

“Where am i? What is this place? Is this a TV show or something?” Joshua asks the girl.

“This is a small village in the kingdom of Jade emperor. You don’t even know where you are, you must be from far away. Where are you from?” The girl asks.

“I forgot…..Can you take me outside and show me around the village? I swear I won't do anything funny.” He thinks he is in a TV show and maybe he will get a reward if he acts normal and plays his role accordingly. The girl agrees and takes him outside. Joshua is fascinated upon seeing how realistic the village looked, it looks nothing like a studio set. He starts looking around, to find camera. He sees a strange object hanging on a house gate. He observes it closely and realizes that it is indeed a camera. He gets relieved, thinking it is all just a TV show. The girl called Lisa gets confused and asks why he is staring at that house. Joshua changes the subject and tells her to show him around.
