Emily’s POV With my heart racing, the driver stopped at the gates of a sprawling mansion, its golden entrance guarded by men armed to the teeth. “This is it,” the driver said, his voice breaking through my thoughts. I nodded quickly, wiping away the tears that blurred my vision. “Thank you,” I whispered as I stepped out of the car, my breath heavy with apprehension. There was no turning back now. I reminded myself of that fact as I summoned the courage to approach the looming gate. Just before I could reach it, my phone buzzed. It was a message from Marco. “Thank you for doing this.
