Truth or Dare-ing?

CHAPTER 2

Katherine Whitlock

I was in the middle of my reverie when I heard my phone keep buzzing. I tried to close my eyes not wanting to bother who it was, but it kept buzzing and buzzing. I rub my eyes before finally checking who it was. It’s 7:00 in the morning. A text message from Jay, Monica and Gabriel? What do they want? It’s still early to go to school. Ugh! I opened the text messages they sent me.

Khai! Where are you! The president is looking for you. Hurry up before he lets out his dragon era! They all texted me the same messages. What is wrong with this guy? I lay on my bed once again and stared at the ceiling for one moment before I heard another buzz from my phone. God! Can’t that wait! I muttered to myself as I made my way to the bathroom. After fixing myself, I already took my car without having breakfast. Along the drive, my mind is occupied with questions and questions. What does he need? Ugh! He’s ruining my moment of beauty rest.

I made my way to the student government office and saw such a terrified expression. I wanted to laugh at how devastated they are right now. “ The president wants to see you at his office,” Monica says with a trembling voice. I can’t help but smile at how scared they were.

How funny. Something’s up with this guy, I bet. The door creaked when I slowly opened it, the cold air greeted me inside and the room was gloomy. All the curtains are shut, the only light I saw was coming from the small lap beside his desk. “ Katherine,” a cold voice echoed through the room and made my whole body shiver. I heard footsteps approaching and Austin suddenly opened a chandelier, I can clearly see his whole figure. His blue eyes are filled with anger.

“ What? Don’t you know you ruin my most precious beauty rest?” I remarked as I sat on the empty chair in front of his desk. I studied his posture for a moment, he opened the curtain and his body can be seen reflecting the window. He made his way towards me and dropped the papers on his desk. “What the heck is this?” he asked while almost shouting.

I was confused by his behavior and that made me question. “ Is something wrong with it?” I asked, curiosity filled me in. “ We’re not checking resumes!” he scolded me, his blue eyes were full of fire and didn't know what to do. I took a deep breath and remained as calm as possible.

“ I guess I put the wrong paper for the program. I’ll be checking that later.”

“ How many times have I called you? You still wouldn’t answer!”

“ Miss me already?” I tried to tease him but he just got much angrier this time. I grin at his reaction. Gosh! Such a tease Katherine! I mutter to myself while trying to hide a smile from him.

“Katherine! The program is starting later tonight!” He snaps while rubbing his nose bridge. God! He’s too handsome to stress with right now. “ Fine. I’ll find it. Chillax” I said, trying to make a peaceful approach at him. “ No need. I already asked them to prepare the area.

“ That was too fast, I never expected him to do that fast.“ Oh. That’s nice. What should I do?” I stood up with excitement as I noticed he got spare keys in his drawer. “ You’ll come with me” I jaw dropped when he told me about it. This is gonna be another annoying day with Mr. Cold Heartless Man. He exited the room and I rushed to follow him.

The three already left the office when we left the room. Austin I and Austin walked at the back of the gymnasium. I wondered where we were going until we stopped and stood in front of the stockroom. “ What are we doing here?’ I ask, my forehead furrowed in confusion.

“ Don’t complain!” he snaps back at me, as he opens the lock of the door. You’re pissing me off Austin! I tried to remain stoic as ever but I can’t when he’s not answering my question. We entered the room and the surroundings were so hot and dark that I had to open my phone for a flashlight. The only light coming from was the holes in the wall. Geez, this room is so old. Why are we even here?

“ What are we gonna do here?” I asked for the nth time when we entered the room. He looked at me dead serious before he finally spoke. “Stop complaining will you?” he said coldly while walking to the files and files of papers. I searched the room, it contained lots of papers that were soft. Some already have dust and the shelves are rusty.

The silence is killing me here. I feel like I would suffocate from the hotness of this room. I can’t take it anymore. I break the silence that surrounds the room. “ What are we looking for?” He stared at me all sweaty and calm now. “ Can you just sit and let me focus?” his tone is very calm and I did as he told me so. So am I just gonna sit and watch him? Gosh! He’s insane! I mutter to myself while I find a spot near the shelves. I let out a small scream when my light spotted the cockroach approaching, I automatically ran to Austin as my mind was jammed with fear.

“ Gosh! Haven’t you seen that! That’s terrible!” I said when I realized I was hugging him. I broke the hug and immediately returned to my seat. A soft chuckle escaped his mouth. Really? He’ll just laugh at me? “ I didn’t mean to hug you so don’t feel flutter, Mister. “ I said, trying to hide the annoyance in my tone.

I feel like we’ve been here for an hour and I looked at Austin who is still busy finding the papers. He stops for a moment and unbutton some parts of his uniform. Geez! He looks hot! But… not a good idea to look at! The area is quiet yet I heard murmuring outside. I can’t make out what they were talking about.

Just as I was about to walk towards them, the door to the classroom slammed and that left me frozen. No! No! I rushed to the door but it’s too late, it’s already locked. “ Somebody help us!” I tried shouting and banging the door but still no help. I wanted to scream at the moment but I know there is no use for it.

“ What’s wrong?” he asked as he held an envelope. He approached me with those concerned looks. “ The stockroom is locked” I hopelessly said as I sat on the door feeling terrible that I couldn't do anything. I noticed how his gaze looked at me from head to toe, searching my body until it landed on my eyes.

An unexpected thing happened that I didn’t bother to think of. My phone’s flashlight went out! This is it! Stocked in a room with this cold-hearted guy! Really? At that moment, I tried hitting my head on the door. The sound of my head hitting the door can only be heard. Suddenly, Austin broke in.

“ Do you think hitting your head would help us out here?” he said and a hint of truth escaped his mouth. Yes! He’s right, hitting my head wouldn’t do anything at all. We’re still stock here.

It’s been how many minutes and we’re still here stocked in this dark, hot room. I wanted to get out of this hell! It’s freaking hot! I scream but no help again. “ What are we gonna do!” I said frustratedly, messing my hair.How am I gonna do this? I stood up and tried kicking the door hard. I’m so frustrated! Then an idea came to my mind. “ Do you have your phone?”

“ Yea? Why?” he asked while I sensed him fetching his phone from his pocket. He opened his flashlight and handed his phone to me. We’re getting out of this hell! “ I’m calling someone for help” I said and dialed a number. My heart is racing for excitement and joy. We’re getting out!

Austin Zayne Marshall

I heard Katherine’s panting as he dialed a number on my phone. My eyes watched as the phone’s screen illuminates her face. I had to admit she’s still beautiful, every detail of her face is perfect. The rattling of the keys can be heard outside, I slowly made my way close to it and the door opened revealing Jay with a shock expression.

“ We thought nobody’s in there so we locked it,” he explained while eyeing me. My eyes search for Katherine’s reaction, she just glared at Jay with annoyance. She passed him without saying a word. I’ve sensed the intense heat Katherine’s been dealing with. I just smirk as she walks away. “ Great job” I said as I left Jay.

While walking to the office, Katerhine’s been quiet lately until we reach my office. “ So have you found the documents you were looking for earlier?” she asked while twirling her hair. God, she’s cute doing that! “ Yea” I casually said as I walked to my swivel chair.

“ That’s good.. I guess I’m done here. “ She began fixing her things and was about to leave the room when I remembered something. “ I still need you……. To pick up the music and foods for the program. Her face lit up like a bombshell. “ Oh, I thought you needed me in your life.” she said, winking at me. This girl has on her sleeves.

Never wonder she’s so interesting to deal with. That girl is riling me up already. Let’s see how long she can survive with me. I gave her a stoic expression not wanting to notice how she made my stomach flutter a bit.

Katherine Whitlock

I watched as Austin’s face changed. His cold utterances make me want to tease him more. “ What’s with that face, Mr . President?” I sarcastically said while I gawked at his blue eyes. “ Can’t you be serious, Katherine?” he said as he rubbed his temple. I smirk seeing how I manage to make such an effect on him.

I grin before answering him. “ I’ll be serious if you…. Seriously love me. Just kidding!” He sighed and focused his attention on his computer. A thin smile shapes my lips seeing how I distract him. “ Tsk… If I’ll be serious then…” he starts saying that made my heart skip. I wasn’t expecting him to respond to such intense conversation with me. “ No need.. I know you already love me.” I tease, helding my heart in an act. I wonder how I made him right now.

For the following minutes, I stayed at his office, I felt the intimacy we shared. How I tried to get him up. This time I’m winning you Austin Zayne Marshall. I exited his office and went to walk to the gym where we are helding the event. The cold air welcomed me as I entered the area. The curtains are already set. It matches the school's team of the school, gold and white. The tables are all arranged and set. I’ve never imagined how they arranged the areas in such an hour. I walk to the backstage to check the music, there are some errors needed yet everything will be fixed before the event.

I took a deep breath and let my eyes search the entire view. Beautiful. The food just needs to be set up later on and the party will be as lively as I could experience today. Surprisingly, this school is known for its remarkable position and quality in the Philippines.

I’ve never foreseen that we can make the entire event so beautiful. “ What do we need here?” I mutter to myself while checking every detail to spot errors. This should be as perfect as Mrs. Hart is expecting us to do so. I don’t want her to be disappointed.

“ Well, I bet everything is on the list. We just needed people to make this party come to life” I added with a big smile as I once again viewed the area before exiting it. While walking out, my mind lingers about the scene that may take as we start this event.

Just a few more hours. The event will start soon and I can’t wait to see students and teachers enjoying the view and the surroundings. I’m intrigued what Austin would wear in the event. Hm? I bet he’ll catch the night’s attention again.
