Chapter Thirty-One
It had been five days since her dad had told her he’d driven to Kansas and had a sit down with Chris, and it had been four since she’d received a voicemail from Chris telling her that he needed some time to sort out his mess. It was a call she hadn’t returned, because she’d figured that was his way of saying, So long, take care. It’s been fun.
Added to that was that Henry had dropped his interest in her completely, having found new prey. She’d spotted him with a different nurse from Pediatrics, and as of three days ago he’d treated her as if she were just any other nurse in the maternity ward and didn’t exist. It was odd and should have been welcome except for the fact that she was very much alone now, having gone from two men to none.
