Chapter Nine Four hours into her double shift, Ivy was resting behind the nurses’ station with a double espresso and a sore knee, which had been bruised but thankfully not swollen this morning when she woke. Her ankle felt as if she’d wrenched it, so instead of racing around the floor as she normally did, she was doing her feet and knee a favor and resting them as much as she could.
