Chapter Five The local bar two blocks away from the hospital was only half full as Ivy walked inside. The burgers were good, the beer was better, and the drunks were plentiful. Henry’s hand was on her lower back again, which prompted her to move faster. He was nice, she liked him, but she was glad she’d insisted on driving her own car. He’d followed in his black Mercedes. Burger, beer, and then home. “Not sure how good company I’m going to be,” Ivy said. “I’m tired.” Her feet were still killing her as she slid into a booth, wearing blue jeans and a simple V-cut white sweater. She left her gray sweater coat over her shoulders and kept her hair pulled up in a ponytail. Her scrubs were in her bag in the backseat, waiting to be washed at home.
