Love Bombing

Spends the night at Maria’s place

They reached her place at 7:30 pm; she took him in her bedroom right away and helped him lay in bed. Good thing she hasn’t sent her package yet to her Family, so she took a new shirt, shorts and toothbrush then handed it to him so he can change and left him. Guess I have to sleep in the guest room tonight; luckily all the bedrooms are attached with bathrooms so she needed not to worry to use the one in her bedroom while Joshua is inside. She dialed Mexican Trellis and ordered food since she is too tired to cook and went back in her bedroom to check on him. She quietly opened the door and walk inside and saw him peacefully sleeping, she took his used clothes that was neatly placed in the chair and went to her closet to get herself a new set of pajamas. She was about to leave when his phone rings, upon seeing him answer his call she left the room quietly.

“Mother, I am really sorry! I can’t make it tonight as promised. I am staying over at Maria’s place as I am not feeling very well. I will leave tomorrow morning perhaps.” He said while his eyes wandered inside her bedroom. Not a single light was on nor a lampshade instead she lighted menthol scented candle on the corner table which makes the ambiance more relaxing.

“Oh okay Son, try to get some rest. Sorry for bugging you. I love you!” His Mom replied who was saddened and worried at the same time happy. Knowing her only Son is sick but in good hands then she’s okay with that. I can’t wait to meet Maria my future daughter-in-law. She then walks towards her husband who was busy watching a movie to share the good news. Joshua, step out of the room and saw Maria at the main door paying a delivery guy. She ordered food, I’ve cause her too much trouble today at the same time I am also asking her a huge favor. As Maria closes the door and turns around she shrieks and almost drops the food in her hands.

“How long have you been standing there?” She asked him patting her chest.

“For a while, Sorry got you scared” He said cracking a smile

“You feel better? Do you have appetite for dinner? I ordered us food” She said knowing that the last meal he had was 4 in the afternoon and it’s almost 9 in the evening.

“Yes, I am actually starving. What you got there?” He asked with a weak smile

“Mix seafood’s grill, large bowl of Tom yam soup mild spicy and fresh fruit salad on the side” She answered him while setting up the table.

While having dinner, Joshua noticed the clothes that he’s wearing.

“Is this your Boyfriend’s or best friend’s clothes? He asked her

“Hey, I am not cheap to let you wear used clothes okay. Anyways, that is supposed to be for my Brother. I took it from the package that I will be sending them soon” She answered while rolling her eyes at him.

After dinner, Maria cleaned the table then took a medicine from her purse and let Joshua have it. Since it's almost 5 hours had past so it’s safe for him to take another tablet. She then went in the guest room to have a shower and after 15 minutes stepped out of the bathroom change into her pj’s and went to the living room. Every weekend, Maria tends to sleep a bit late than her usual schedule to watch random movies. That night while watching, she can’t focus on the movie, she was thinking about Joshua's proposal. To help her decide, she dialed her best friend’s number and told him everything.

“Hey, I know you have a thing with your Boss. I find the idea crazy but you’re old enough to decide. Remember, you’ve been hurt badly just like me. But, if pretending as his girlfriend makes you happy then go for it…up to you only. But when you fall, always remember I will always be here to catch you.” Joshua said with a very comforting voice.

“Okay, Boxer. Thanks for the advice. How are your Parents?” She asked

“They’re good…they asked for you. And wish that you could pay them a visit again soon” He said to her.

“Oh of course I will. Let me clear my schedule for next week and I’ll go with you.” She happily said to him.

Talking with her best friend always makes her better. She admires him for giving always the best advises, but mostly the comfort and security that he gives her. She knows that they could always count on each other no matter what. While lying in the bed, she keeps on turning over. She thought of what her best friend told her earlier. Recollecting the past, she gets a little sad but not to the point that she will cry like before. Thanks to her best friend, who plays a big part of her moving on. Right now, what worry her are the consequences of accepting the proposal? Few questions run to her mind till she got tired of thinking and fell asleep soon.
