Last Known Seer

Dom POV

I am sitting on the porch steps listening to Audrey talk to Casper. He seems to be doing really good with the kids. The talking comes to a stop and the door opens. “She fell back to sleep.” Casper said

“Thank you.” I reply

“We need to talk.” He sits down on the porch next to me and I can feel the air between us electrify. I am still not used to the idea of being his mate. It feels strange. I find him attractive which is new. I have always found women attractive. How on earth did that change with just one man.

“About what?” I ask as I take a sip of my beer.

“When Travis finds out about Audrey’s gifts. He will no longer just want Danny.” He takes a deep breath. “He will do everything he can to get to her. It will be dangerous. We need to keep her a secret for as long as possible.”

“Yeah I assume there will be a lot of danger if she is discovered.” I say as I take another sip.

Casper shakes his head. “You don’t understand. Travis has been looking for a seer for a while. That is why he took me.”

I look at Casper confused. “You're a seer? I thought they were extent”

“I am a direct descendant of the last known seer Gabriel. Since Gabriel died no one in our family has been born with the sight. I cannot see but I can sense things sometimes.”

I am momentarily stunned. “Gabriel? I didn’t think he had kids.”

Seers used to be fairly popular. Every pack had one. It is not fully clear why but the last werewolf King ordered them all to be executed. He not only ordered the seers be executed but he ordered their children be as well. A King's order is stronger than an Alpha’s order. We do not have a choice but to obey. All of the packs were physically forced to kill their seers. It prompted outrage. The Alpha’s came together and voted to dethrone the King. It is said that the King was crazy; he tried to kill the Alphas in revenge. The Alpha’s refused to replace him. Instead they got together and hunted him down. His execution is a huge part of our history. It separated the werewolves and each pack managed themselves.

That didn’t seem to go well when the Vampire King Luther tried to kill us off. We got lucky. He never made it to our pack. Being next to that psychopath Travis helped. His pack is rumored to be strong. We sat back and watched the progress of the war. Everyone celebrated the death of King Luther. Since then there has been talk about crowning Christopher the future Alpha of White Crescent Pack the new king of werewolves. We cannot allow ourselves to be easy prey again.

Casper broke through my thoughts. “It is strange. Seers have alway been men. I don’t think there has been a female seer before at least there is no record of one. I am not sure what to expect from it.” He takes a deep breath. “For her age she is already strong.”

We both went quiet for a while. Just sitting here watching a quiet forest. I keep glancing at him. My eyes study him a little each time. Casper finally broke the silence. “Stop thinking of me as a man.”

I stare at him confused. He turns to face me. “Just stop thinking of what I am. Just stop thinking and feel. Close your eyes.” I hesitate and he raises an eyebrow. “Just close your eyes. If you don’t want this to happen ever again then it wont.” I obey his request. I close my eyes. I can feel him get closer. The electricity in the air gets stronger. I feel his lips touch mine. The touch sends a shock of pleasure rippling through my body. He pulls back. Something inside me just snaps. I don’t care anymore about what he is. I just want him. I lean forward and claim his lips again. My wolf has been begging me to accept him. It has been hard to tune him out. Right now he is running circles in my head from excitement.

This kiss just feels right. I pull back and take a deep breath. “Does this mean you accept me?” Casper asks.

“I guess I am. I don’t really know what I am doing.” Casper smiled and grabbed my hand. He leads me through the cabin and into my bedroom.

Danny POV

I woke up at dawn and Dom wasn’t awake yet. I become annoyed and go to wake him up. I walked into his room but froze in the doorway. Dom opened his eyes. My mouth drops open and I turn to walk out. “Danny!” Dom comes running out of the room. “Danny! It isn’t what it looks like.”

“You mean you and Casper didn’t sleep together?” I ask still in shock. That is definitely nothing I imagined seeing.

“Well....we did.” He shuffles his feet and I notice his neck.

“You're marked?” My already open mouth gets wider. My eyeballs feel like they are going to pop out of my head at any second. “He’s your mate isn’t he?”

“I know it is weird. I am still not used to it.” He mumbles

“Well it isn’t weird, just kind of random.” I recovered from my shock. “You know Dom, I like him. He is a good man and I am happy for you.” I step forward and hug Dom. His arms wrap around me in a tight hug.

“Thank you Danny.” He kisses the top of my head. “Let's go train. I thought we could start with a run and then lift rocks.” I nod my head.
