Chapter ten - Welcome to my party

2087 Words
Zach's POV: Finally, I can have a party. I have been waiting for this for long. My parents promised there wouldn't be any cameras or another way to check on me. I will still check the house when they leave. Something tells me they are lying. Once I check everything, I will prepare for the best night of my life. Maybe one of the best. I have been to parties before. I printed out some flyers. I thought inviting people from school, but that would've been boring. My friends put the flyers around the town. Only people who have them can come. I don't want my house to get filled with people. That's why I made only fifty. Let's see who will come. I expect some girls. The boys told me they have put one flyer in each school. It will be interesting to see who will get it. Of course, I have to clean the whole house, but it will be worth it. I won't let anyone in any room. The living room and the backyard are enough. The same is true for the bathroom. It might be my house, but I prefer to keep my room private. Jake said he would decide if he would come. I know he is not in the mood. My friend should have fun. I know he won't cheat on her. I won't let him do it. The choice is his. I won't tell him what to do. I still want him to come. I hope that the party will go well and without problems. Today is the day. I have been waiting for this for long. I woke up early and checked the house. I didn't find any cameras. My parents told me the same, but I still checked. When I was ready, I had breakfast. What do I need for this party? Many things. Mom was nice enough to leave me some money. I still can't believe they agreed to let me do it. I thought they would never give up. Maybe I had luck. Whatever it is, I'm happy I got what I wanted. I went to the store and bought a full shopping card. Everything was snacks and drinks. I won't buy real food. That won't be a dinner. Later, I called my friends to come home. They will help me organize everything. Jake texted me separately. He will come to help me, but won't be at the party. I won't pressure him. I believe she is still a fresh memory in his head. Also, they talk every day. I'm glad that he found someone who makes him happy. He is the only one of us who knows how to treat girls right. - How do you feel? I know you won't come tonight. - I said - I'm sorry. I'm not in the mood for that. - Jake said - Take your time. You might feel better. - I hope so. - How is she in the new town? - She is trying to adjust. It's not easy. - Wasn't there a way how she could be here with you? - No. Her parents were moving out, and so was she. - But she is old enough to speak for herself. - This doesn't matter. Sometimes, it's not what we want. - Don't tell. It took me time to convince my parents. When I gave up, they agreed. - At least you got what you wanted. - I did. - What are the plans for tonight? I know you expect girls to come. - Honestly, I don't know if I want to do it. - What? You always go after them. - Yes, but it's a one-time thing. I don't hang out with them anymore. - I said and heard my phone - Is that from Zoe? - Um, no. - You can't lie to me. What is going on? Do I need to know something? - No. She is texting me from time to time. - I said and replied to her message - Time to time, huh? - Stop it! Nothing is going on. She is not even my friend. - You can't keep girls for friends. You always want more. - I haven't tried on her. - Yet. Please, don't do it. She doesn't need to go through you. - I have to focus on the party. Will you help me? - Sure. What will you do? - I have bought food and drinks. - All I see is junk food. - It's a party, not a dinner. - Tell me how it ended. I expect some drama around you. - he said, chuckling - You wish. It will go smooth like butter. - What will you do? - Nothing. We are in my house. - All I can say is to have fun and be careful of the consequences. - What consequences? - You will see. I had no idea what he meant by that, but I didn't say anything else. The boys helped me get ready and went home. They will come later. I went for a shower. I checked everything to make sure I didn't miss anything. I bought the cheapest food and drinks. I don't need to spend much money. I expect my parents to call me. They did it yesterday when they landed. I wanted to call Zoe, but I didn't do it. She might be busy. I was checking social media when my mom called me. - Hello. - Hey. How are you? Do you miss me? - Mom, I'm eighteen. Do I miss you? - Do you? - A little bit. It's weird not lecturing me all the time. - This is not how I wanted you to remember me. Well, thanks. - Where is my dad? - He has a meeting. I'll be out soon, but I decided to call you first. - What will you do outside? You can go for lunch. - I will do that, for sure. - No offense, but why did you go? You are alone most of the time. - I like exploring new places. I don't need to be with your dad all the time. - I won't do that. - Everyone is different. You like sharing everything with your friends. - Yes, because we don't hide anything from each other. - This is what you call good friends. - You can find some there. - I prefer to hang out with mine. This town is not close to ours. We won't come here often. - Well, have fun. - You too. Don't forget the rules, and we'll see you soon. - Don't worry. Everything will go well. I promise. - I'll trust you on this one. Please, don't disappoint me. - I won't. Let's not forget that I live here as well. I don't want problems. - You will have if you don't listen to us. - When will you go out? - I asked, and she laughed - Soon. I spent the rest of the afternoon at home. My friends came a bit early. Soon, everyone was here. That is all I have ever wanted. Some girls came as well. I checked everyone to make sure they were having fun. Also, I need to keep an eye on the place. I looked around to see if there were familiar faces. I didn't know anyone except for my friends. Soon, I noticed a girl going upstairs. I don't want anyone in my room. I followed her. She was looking at something on my desk. That's when I recognized her. No way. - You should leave this exactly where it was. - I said and locked the door - Zach? What are you doing here? - I should ask you the same. What are you doing in my room? - Your room? You are the host of the party. - Yes. What are you doing here? I didn't expect you to come. - I needed some distraction. I don't want to stay at home. - Why? Is there a problem? You can tell me. - No, but I want to be outside. I don't go out much. - We can change that. - What are you doing? - she asked as I stepped closer - Nothing. I only want to have fun. Don't you? - This is not what I imagined. - I can make you have fun. You won't forget this. - It's not what I want now. - she said and sat on my bed - What is going on? You can share it with me. - I don't know. I have a lot of things in my head. - Can I help you with that? - No, you can't. I have to deal with this alone. - You keep saying the same. - Because it's true. - I think there is something I can do for you. - I said and removed a piece of her hair - It's not that easy. You have no idea what is going on. - I wanted to do something for quite a while. - What was it? - This. - I said and kissed her Surprisingly, she didn't pull away. I have kissed many girls. She can't surprise me. I can tell she is not happy. Something or someone is draining her. We kept making out for some time. Later, she got a call and went home. I wish she could stay a bit longer. I went downstairs to check on everyone. They stayed around 2 am. My friends offered to help me clean, but I sent them home. I told my parents I would do it. After some time, I heard steps and turned around. - Zoe? - I said I would come back. - Yes, but I didn't expect you to do it. - But I did. I see the fun part ended. - It did. Now I have to clean. - Can I help you? - I don't mind, but I'm supposed to do this alone. - I have nothing better to do. - In that case, welcome. - Before we start, I think we need something. - What is it? - Good music. I'll be your DJ tonight, sir. - Let's see your skills. - How was the rest of the party? - It was good. I got what I wanted. - Good for you. You look happy. - I wish I could say the same for you. - Why? I'm happy. Look where I am. - she said, chuckling - I'll believe you. - Can I ask you something? It's more like a favor. - Sure. How can I help you? - Can I stay here for the night? I don't want to go home. - What? Really? You want to stay with me. - I can use the couch. It doesn't matter. - I won't let you sleep there. You will come with me. - Zach, I'm not in the mood for that. - I won't do anything. I promise. - Thanks, and I'm sorry. It won't happen again. - You are always welcome here. - I will go in the morning. When will your parents come back? - Not tomorrow. You can stay here as much as you want. - I appreciate it, but I have to go back home. - Won't you finally tell me what is going on? - Now, it's not the time for this. Can you be patient? - I am, but I see you are not ok. - I will answer all your questions, but it won't be now. - In that case, all we can do is dance. - What? - Come here. - I said and pulled her closer Zoe wants to stay with me. I don't know why I deserved it, but I'm happy. For some reason, I want to help her. We are not that close, but I like being around her. We understand each other well. I want her to tell me everything, but I'll be patient. Some things are not that easy to share. I'll wait and see what will happen. Zoe fell asleep quickly. She isn't happy, but I don't know what to do. The party might have helped her, but she left for some time. I'll try to be close to her and help her with what I can. Little things can make a big difference. I hope that my parents won't get mad about the party.
