Chapter Nineteen

**Darrens POV** "Please do not let this dipsh*t f**k this up." I look at Daphnie. Begging is not my strong suit but with a tiny woman who can burn my brain with just the utter of a few words in my close proximity, I have no choice but to play niceties with her. "If he fails at securing her, all of this will be for nothing. My end goal is to have her as mine, I will see that come true." "Do not worry Darren." She purrs, placing her hand on my chest. It takes all my self control not to pull away and offend her, she is the one thing on this earth I am afraid of. Even Arken is on his best behavior where she is concerned, knowing full well what she is capable of. "She will be yours by nightfall. Now, one word of warning. I have to use my last reserves after these spells to teleport home and recuperate, so once we secure her, it is all up to Daniel. I will make it absolutely clear before hand that if he fails, no matter where he hides, I will find him and give him the utmost painful death. He knows better than you not to mess with me, so he will fall in line." She smiles seductively at me and pulls away to prepare. Angst to get my hands on what is mine is causing me to fret like a school girl on her first date and it is driving me to the brink of insanity. I was a mighty Alpha, the strongest in the area and yet I was fretting over a woman like a love sick pup. I was tired of having to work in the shadows, ready to have a pack that is completely under my control and begin taking over the surrounding territories. As strong as an Alpha I am, my one weakness is not having a pack loyal to me but if I kill the Alpha to the Blue Crystal pack, by rights the pack will belong to me. Making their Luna reject her mate once she comes here and marking her as mine would help immensely as well as it will weaken him. I will have every advantage to the situation. To kill time, I busy myself looking into the intel of the pack that I will gain if all goes to plan. There were plenty of strong male warriors to help expand the territory, many unmated females to add to the harem and plenty of space to build a new one for the higher numbers of women. Why this wretched Alpha ever thought it would be a good idea to allow females to be warriors is beyond me. Women belong at home, cooking and cleaning, putting out whenever a male requires and birthing pups. They had no place being a warrior or being anywhere else in my mind. They were to be subservient and only talk when talked to, never to mouth of or contradict. Some may think I am archaic in my thinking but it works for me, so I stick to my guns. Hours later, the click of my door opening interrupts my research. "Alpha." Chris murmurs. "What do you want, Christopher?" "They have captured the female, Alpha and Daphnie has left to recuperate. Daniel should be here within a half an hour." "Excellent." I grin mischievously to myself. This female was going to be fun to break and mold into the perfect woman. It was always more enjoyable when they had a little fire in them to snuff out. I notice Chris still standing in the office door, fidgeting and glancing my way. "What?!" I growl at him, causing the coward to whimper. "Im sorry Alpha, I just....." He grimaces. "Is the female worth it? I-I-I am not questioning you Alpha, I am just worried that Daniel may be setting you up to fail with this other Alpha so he can take over both packs." I almost bite his head off but paranoia wins out, the thoughts of betrayal swimming deep in my head. What if this was his plan? Could he possibly be devious enough to set up something like that? I will have to "question him when he gets back. "Are you the only one who shares these thoughts?" I glare at Chris. "No, sir. Most of the pack feels that his over confidence has an underlying message. He walks around like he already owns this place and I understand the plan where his previous pack is concerned is to make him think he is going to take over when Andrew is killed, but he seems beyond sure that he is to be the next Alpha even though you will be the one to deliver the final blow." "And any smart wolf would know that whoever kills the previous Alpha wins the title." I muse as he nods his agreement. For as much of a dumba*s Chris is, he brings up a very valid point. Werewolf law was if an Alpha was challenged, it had to be for just reason, whoever delivered the challenge fought the Alpha to the death and if the challenger won, he was the new Alpha. If this bast**d thought he was going to take my challenge against the soon to be former Alpha and become Alpha behind my back like that, he had another thing coming. I would tear him limb from limb before he even gets the chance to utter the words. If you tear him apart, I want to eat the traitor. Arken growls lowly. It has been a bit since I have had a good meal, but I will be patient to kill this traitorous snake. I will let you fully take over and deal with him. I swear to him. As long as you are patient and wait till we get to the bottom of it. Then you can feast on his flesh. His excitement at having a fresh kill courses through me and I know then and there, no matter what, he is dead. We cannot risk it, he must die once he safely delivers my woman to me. Arken will make sure he dies slowly and very painfully, he had a sick affinity for that. As thoughts swirl in my head of how to kill the traitor in our midsts, I look over the logistics of the new pack I will gain soon. This will be a very worthy investment and I will soon be not only the most powerful Alpha but the richest as well. There were vast business deals and property investments tied with this pack, millions flowing into it and it will all be mine. Not to mention the wonderful women that will soon bend to my will, bringing all of my s****l desires to a wonderful reality. Excitement courses through me and straight to my d**k at the prospect. "Alpha...." Chris pops his head back through my door. This f****r really needs to learn the art of knocking on a d**n door. "What now?!" I snap. "We, uh... We...." "SPIT IT OUT!!" I roar. "We lost contact with Daniel." He cowers, prepared for me to lash out. "Our last contact, he was chasing the female as she had gotten the slip on him. Now, nothing but radio silence. We can only assume he has failed and the female has killed him, sir." My blood instantly boils, all plans that rode on capturing and securing her shot to the wind. "FIND HER NOW!!" This slight was unacceptable and if she wasn't located soon, heads were going to roll. I had to have her, she was the key to all of what I desired. If I had her, I had nothing. No trap to lure her worthless mate, no pack and no chosen mate. I wanted to break her bond with Daphnies help and make her mine after making her the shining beacon of my perfect woman and by the Goddess, I will have what I want. Come hell or high-water, she will be MINE!
