Blurb

Ten years ago, by chance, he crossed paths with her.

He was intrigued by her impetuous and impulsive nature.

Ten years later, she was forced to marry him to repay a debt of gratitude.

He accepted her as his wife without any complaints.

It was she who taught him about the emotions between men and women in the world.

He developed an inexplicable desire to spend his days and nights with her.

Unfortunately, she seemed eager to get rid of him and planned to leave gracefully.

This left him, as a human, lost again!

Alas! This outcome was his own doing.

Who told him to always pretend to be sick to gain her sympathy?

This rain has been falling for too long, too long. It was as if the heavens were enduring some grievance, choosing to vent their frustrations so thoroughly. It looked up expressionlessly, the steep mountain walls on either side squeezing the sky into a long, narrow, dark and gloomy strip, making it impossible to tell what time it was. A low, hoarse growl escaped its throat, and it shook its massive head, instantly shaking off the water droplets. Its fur, a mix of light and dark, was damp, and its ringed stripes, painted on its golden-brown body, shone a glossy black. In the pouring rain, the crying was intermittent, one sound faint, one sharp, cracking the perennial silence of the secluded valley. Its brow furrowed, its sharp ears perked up, and it followed the sound. With a few swift leaps, it silently sprang into a patch of grass as tall as a person's waist. It lay still, its dark gold eyes peering through the gaps in the grass, observing everything. The carriage was smashed to pieces, the large horse was pinned underneath, its neck at an odd angle, blood oozing from its mouth. Several mangled bodies lay scattered around, and on the gravel, bright red blood flowed like a river with the rain. It emerged from the grass and slowly paced around the gruesome scene before it, until the crying sound began again. Its four paws suddenly leaped onto a protruding rock face, and in the crevice between two rocks, it saw the corpse of a young woman. Was she thrown out of the carriage and caught in the rock crevice?! Its bell-like eyes narrowed again, golden light flowing, and seeing a small hand waving weakly, it sniffed, pushed away the young woman's arm with its nose, and found the little thing she was protecting in her arms: tiny, delicate, as lovely as jade snow, a boy about three years old. The baby didn't open his eyes, just cried, drowsily and with a voice already hoarse. Tears and rain mingled on his small face. It gazed at his flushed round face, with confusion and hesitation in its eyes, slowly approaching, its large tongue extended, slowly l*****g, trying to wipe away his cries...
