A Repeat Of History

8 years ago, a massive war broke out between the Republic of PHI and the Glade Empire. It was a long hard-fought battle; blood and screams filled the battleground. The numbers and technology of the Empire was no match for the Republic. the Republic was losing and it seemed like there was no end in sight. Until, the Great Sorcerer gave up his life and power to one man which was the turning point of that battle. The man threw himself to the frontlines obliterating any foe he sees with no mercy in his eyes. During his assault, he was greeted by the Empires strongest soldier... “Legion” A soldier so strong it could wipe out armies of vast sizes and has magic power so great it can rival destroy a city with a singular spell. It was long hard-fought battle between the man and Legion, neither wanting to give up. The clashing of weapons, bursts of magic filled their battleground destroying the landforms. In the end... The man was able to defeat Legion but at the price of his own life… The man was commemorated giving him the name “The Arcane”.

Marc was just 13 years old when his father died and had to take care of his family alone. Marc couldn’t get any job since he was only 13 so he had to resort to stealing. 8 years later Marc is now 21, he was stealing some food with his friend Alph when suddenly…

Marc is running from the soldiers and sees Alph

Marc: ALPH!! TAKE THIS AND BRING IT BACK HOME!”

Alph: Alright, don’t get caught!

Marc is trying everything to lose the guards and finds a hole from a broken house and manages to lose the soldiers by sliding into it, he then proceeded to go back home “I’m home” Marc then sits next to his family

Marc: enjoying the food everyone?”

Siblings: Yes, big bro it’s the best!

Marc: It’s freshly baked from Mr. Baker himself

his mother then talks to him

Mom: Marc thank you for the food but you still haven’t told me what type of job you have.

Marc: You don’t need to worry about it mom.

Marc then gets up and goes to sit with Alph

Alph: So you still haven’t told your mom that you got fired...

Marc: Shut up it’s for the best she has been working so hard… I just want her to rest…

suddenly a lot of soldier’s barges in and arrests Marc and Alph

Mom: Excuse me but WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!!

Soldier: Maam your son is under arrest for thievery and deception.

Mom: WHAT WHY?!

Marc: Mom… I haven’t told you but… I got fired a year and a half ago and nobody wanted me so I resorted to stealing…

Mom: What…?

Marc: Im sorry ma…

Mom: where you in on this too Alph??!

Alph: Yes…

Marc: Sorry ma…We'll be back soon...

The soldiers then took them away leaving Marc’s mother in tears.

When they arrived at prison they were confronted by the warden and was told to either stay in prison for 10 years or be in the military and they decided to go the military. A day later they were tested of their magic power and skills and to the military’s surprise they were sensational, their magic power was around twice more than the average sorcerer and their speed and strength excelled.

A few days later, they were escorted to the military and to their barracks and were introduced to their squad which included of 10 members including Marc and Alph. They exchanged greetings and introduced themselves.

Herm: Hey I’m Herm, I’m the eldest here and the squadron leader. That’s Prince, Joseph, Caleb, Sam, Alex, Bruce, and lastly Rence. All of us here play a specific role, Bruce and I are the tanks which means we are the shields, Prince, Sam, And Joseph are the damage dealers so they are in charge of the offense, Caleb and Alex provide support from the rear and Rence is our healer.

Marc: I see, well I’m Marc and this is Alph. We don’t know our roles yet but we hope to be of great aid to you all.

Herm: Don’t be so formal Marc, we’re practically brothers now. Now, your beds are over there, you both will be sharing the same bunk and you can put your stuff over there by the closets and if theres anything else you need just ask me.

Marc: Alright thank you very much Herm.

A few hours later they were called to train. They did various of training and everyone was shocked about how Marc and Alph did so well. Afterwards the last training came which was a one-on-one sparring match, everyone found their partner and to everyone’s surprise Sam and Prince challenged both Marc and Alph to a sparring match separately and they reluctantly agreed. They then started the match. Sam was keeping up with Marc but overtime Marc overwhelmed Sam in every category same goes for Alph against Joseph. After training, Marc and Alph were praised by Herm

Herm: Wow! you guys were amazing you guys excelled my expectations to be honest.

Marc: Thank you-

Suddenly alarms started to ring...
