CHAPTER 43
At first, Sakiko thought she’d awakened from a nightmare. As she listened to the noises in the night, she realized she’d awakened into a nightmare.
“Michael. Wake up! It’s Cassidy!”
He wasn’t a light sleeper but came awake quickly.
“You’ve got to get into the water,” she said.
In the dim glow from a deck light, she could just see the large whites of Michael's eyes.
“I can’t. The Botox.”
“Jesus!”
They scrambled into shorts and t-shirts and opened the door to find Dominique about to bang on it. Her eyebrows arched, then she motioned them forward and began to jog down the hallway. Yuri and Sunita waited ahead and joined them.
“The steering-gear room,” Dominique said. “We might just have time.”
