Time to start afresh
On a sunny day, she delivers cupcakes. Her joyful nature brings a smile to one's face. In a pale pink baggy pants paired with a floral crop top, she is in her old rusted scooty.
"Kolestika!" Someone behind her called her out loud. She stopped and turned around. It was her old friend. Or say the only friend who is still in contact with her. In a black T-shirt having a daffy duck's face in it pairing with a gray cargo pant Arun was waving at her. His tall appearance and broad shoulders make him a standout in the crowd too.
Arun is Kolestika's best friend. He had first met her during her 8th standard and then on they are like chuddi-buddies. She even helps Arun in his café and even sometimes delivers for him. He was wading at her with a piece of paper in his hand.
She rushed to meet him. "Hi" Greeting him she pointed at the letter he was holding.
"This..... this is something that can change your world." Saying this, he handed over the letter to her. And to her surprise it was a letter from a top renowned company.
She bounced with excitement and even hugged him tightly. Due to their height difference, her face was all submerged on his chest.
"So... are you excited for your new life?" He asked while feeling her fast heartbeat. He could sense her nervousness. It was about four years that she had not socialized with anyone. After her graduation she was all focused on her part-time jobs, looking after her parents and her younger brother. All her friends were shocked when she suddenly disappeared after her graduation. Two years ago, they met her and mocked her for her miserable appearance. And she knew that in that company she would have to encounter some of her friends and she couldn't let them mock her again. But what could she do? She forgets her worries in Arun's embrace.

"Amma! I got the appointment letter for a fresh intern at Avis Magazine." Her mother was so happy to see her daughter's happy face that she literally cried that very moment.
"Amma!" She wiped her mother's face and her father too cheered her mother.
"Aunty! My mom always says that bad days never stay for long. Now she will rock the world." Arun tried to lift her mother's mood.
"My poor baby, never thought of herself. How will you go to the office? You haven't purchased a single cloth for yourself in the last four years." Hitting her on her arm, her mother said. "Will you go to your office wearing these old clothes?"
"Let's go shopping." Arun invited her. But she decided to go out with him.
"Lucky!" her mother glared at her. That made Arun giggle. And that leads to her glare at Arun. And the cycle got interrupted by her father. "Lucky you will need a bag. Let's all go shopping."
Oh! Don't get confused. "Lucky" is Kolestika's pet name. In spite of Arun, no one calls her by her official name. Everyone prefers to call her Lucky instead.

Avis Magazine's office was very big and classy. At the entrance she showed her letter and then entered inside. There she saw the lift was all packed, so she stopped for another one but while the door was closing she had a glimpse of Karunesh. He was shocked by her appearance. He was her past and now she had moved on. After the four depressing years, she is now here to make a fresh start with her head held high. She is already 29 years old, and she is all set to give it a shot. To flirt and get into some adventures. Her faith in serious relationships, love and marriage is long-lost. Her soft and innocent appearance was all gone, she had transformed herself. The girl who loved comfy clothes is now wearing a wine-colored pencil skirt and a white shirt. The one who avoided heels her entire life and opted for comfortable sneakers was wearing black high-heeled boots paired with a leather laptop bag.
She walked out to pull herself together. Then, she turned back to fetch the lift. A handsome guy with specs seemed lost and asked her to hold the lift. She let him in. Only those two were in the lift. That guy asked "Which floor is the marketing department?"
"6th" She replied. They shared a smile and she pressed the 6th floor button. He lifted his brows, indicating that he knew that they both were heading to the same floor.
On their arrival they both parted. She walked forward and asked a passerby where she could meet Mr Khan. And she followed the direction he gave. Inside the chamber of Mr Khan she found the department she was appointed to and her work details. Mr Khan instructed his assistant to guide her to her seat. Just when Kolestika, with that assistant, walked out of Mr. Khan's office she saw that very same guy seemed lost again.
He muttered "Mr Khan!" The assistant gave him directions and still he asked her again. And she pointed her finger towards the office and watched till he stepped to the right chamber. His eyes were also glued to hers. Before entering, he shook his head as if he was asking "is this the right one?" and she replied with a calm face, a sweet smile, with a short blink of her eyes and a short nod of yes. She felt that guy was so cute and clumsy. His round face with slight beard enhanced his cute chubby cheeks. His sparkling eyes which were peeping out of his round specs, were dazzling.
She got assigned by the editing department. While greeting everyone, she saw Karunesh standing right in the corner. His shoulder got broad, "Did he started gumming?" She thought. She tried to ignore him, smiled and moved forward to her desk. It was her first day, so she had nothing much to do. She was told to leave early because, as she joined late, so that week's work was already in progress and any project which could be assigned to her would be done at the next meeting next week. When she found she got a half day off, she called Arun to hang out together.
Arun came to pick her up, and then they went on a ride. At first, they delivered the orders, then they went to the mall because he wanted to grab some ingredients for his cafe. And she had to buy some groceries too. She did what she usually does. She narrated the entire scenario to him. About that cute guy about Karunesh and so on, everything in detail, while shopping. After shopping, they dropped the grocery bags at Kolestika's house and went on a ride again. They stopped in front of a vender selling coconut water. While drinking the coconut water, Arun expressed his feelings. "We are such close friends. This very moment is so pleasant. The sunset, then comfort between us. Can't this just be like this forever?"
"What?" She asked.
"You, me and this comfortzone. You'll return from your work, and I'll shut my cafe, and then we'll spend quality time together. You are my friend and a best friend could be your best wife too. Why can't that be possible? "
His sudden confession moved her.
