Chapter 5: Alex and Rachel

It was just before 2 days of Gala, Ethan and Ava had not met after he asked her to be his date. She was not ready to face him, so she sent every update through mail. Ethan was also too busy, so he also didn't think much. But today he was a little free and he wanted to know the updates of Gala as it was just in 2 days and also he wanted to see, for him it was feeling like a week or so not seeing Ava but in reality it was only a couple of days. So he called Alex and told him to bring Ava to his office.

Alex went to Ava's office. Before going inside he saw Rachel who was staring at him, Alex used to like her for many days but seeing her staring at him made him confident, so he went to Rachel and asked "Hey Rachel! How are you?" Rachel said "Ha Hi Alex, I, I am goo..... goooood how are you? she stuttered. Alex laughed and said "I'm also good. Do you mind if I ask you a question....uh here " Rachel replied confidently this time "No, you can ask me anything". Alex stared at Rachel in her eyes and asked "Will you be my date to Gala?" Rachel took a minute to reply but now it was time for Alex to be anxious. Rachel took a deep breath and said "Yes, for sure. I have been waiting for this moment for a long time." Alex left a breath he didn't know he was holding and said "Thank god Rachel, for a moment I thought you were gonna reject me. I was thinking how am I gonna live in this office with this big shame." Rachel laughed but Sophia interfered and told Alex "No way, Rachel has had a crush on you since day one, so it's impossible for her to reject you." Rachel blushed and said " Shut up Sophia." Alex was happy and told the girls bye and he went inside Ava's office.

At Ava's office, as Alex went in Ava asked him to sit down. As Alex sat he said the boss is asking you to meet him to explain about Gala. Ava said I have sent every report till date to Mr. Ethan, is it necessary that she should meet him? Alex said "Ava seriously you are asking this question to me, if I have to answer it then Yes, you should meet the boss." Ava just hummed yes. Seeing Ava's discomfort Alex asked her Ava is there any problem? Or are you not well? Should I inform sir? He will understand. Ava said "No Alex, I am good don't worry" she replied with a dull face. Alex asked her again what happened is there any problem with the boss? As he noticed that after leaving the office abruptly a few days ago, Ava had not once visited his boss. Ava replied "Nothing Alex don't mind me you leave, I will collect the file and come behind you." Alex was about to leave Ava felt sad Alex was caring her this much and she also have noticed the things outside so she asked Alex with smile on her face, "Alex what happened outside the office" Alex smiled and said "I have liked Rachel since she has joined before 6 months, but I didn't had chance to talk to her much, today I just took my chance and asked her to be my date for Gala and guess what she said yes" he said with a big smile on his face. Ava felt happy for him and said "Congrats Alex." Alex thanked her and said I don't know Ava, I am not this talkative person but with you I can talk without hesitation and I feel kind of bonding with you. Ava said "Alex same for me, I have never talked this much with any strangers this much, and I also kinda feel some bond with you, like you are my brother." Alex said "Ok from now on you are my cute sister who I am gonna protect for my life", and jokingly pinched her cheeks and they both laughed and left her office. Outside the office Rachel was staring at Ava, Ava raised her hands and told he is all yours I am just a friend they all laughed.

Ava came to Mr. Ethan's office knocked, after a few seconds she went inside. Ethan looked at her and told her to sit down. Ethan asked her to give a report of Gala. Ava informed everything about it. Ethan listened to her and said "Well done Ava, you have done a great job I'm proud of you." Ava blushed and said Thank you sir. Ethan cleared his throat Ava looked at him, Ethan said "Ava be ready by 6 pm on the day of Gala, I will pick you up." Ava was confused and asked "Mr. Ethan wasn't that a joke." Ethan said in a serious tone "Ava I don't joke, hope you have an appropriate dress for Gala." Ava looked down Ethan told Ava "Ok today evening we will go for your dress shopping" Ava was embarassed she didn't wanted to go so she tried to refuse, but before she could even speak Ethan said "Ava don't, I'm not giving you a option here." Ava swallowed and said "Okay Mr. Ethan if that's what you want, but I'm gonna bring my friend to shopping" she said and left the office.

In the evening Ava left the office and went to her home. Emily was doing some work. Ava called Emily and told her how her boss has asked her to be his date, and also how she has agreed to it without even thinking she was about to tell her about today's shopping situation, but Emily got excited on Ava being Ethan's date so she cut her off and said "Oh my God, Ava you are gonna be the date hottest bachelor, you are so lucky and many girls will jealous of you that night. And also don't get lost and sleep with Ethan on the night of the Gala." Ava took a deep breath and told Emily "Emily listen to me please, I'm not finished yet today he called me again and told me he will take me shopping. So I told him I'm bringing you with me." Hearing this Emily was shocked and she was happy that she would meet hottest bachelor, she squealed and said "Oh my god Ava I don't know what to say, but for now I'll say thank you, because of you I'll meet him, I'll go to shopping in a big mall, all my dreams are coming true" she hugged Ava tightly. They both laughed and went to get ready.
