Karasu flew through the orange haze of the setting sun, coasting on the high winds while flapping as needed to ride from one to the next. Near the edge of the borders of Throklana’s main province, he landed on the large, leafless branch of a half-dead tree sitting at the edge of the forest. He looked around, focusing on any movement to locate its source. When he was certain all was clear, he glided down, morphing to his human form before his feet touched the ground.
