Chapter 13: Unexpected Overtures
Hina tried to ignore the whispers and snide remarks swirling around her as she entered the cafeteria. Since Parents’ Day, the lunch-time rumor-spreading had exploded, especially with regards to a certain classmate and her gorgeous companion. Considering that long-haired man had only looked a few years older than them, they all knew there was no way he was Sakura’s father.
After looking around for Akari, she went ahead through the line to get her lunch. Their high school was unusual in that it still offered lunch for students rather than presuming everyone would bring their own. It was pretty decent food too. She grabbed her current favorite, the chicken curry and rice, with a lemon cake for dessert.
