Chapter 31: New Future
Sakura woke up lying in a hospital bed, confused. She didn’t remember getting there. Presumably, she’d had an episode, but even that seemed strange because she felt good. Tired, but good. There was no pain at all. No machines clung to her, not even a heart monitor. No IV lines connected with her body. If not for the sterile white walls around her, it would have been like waking up in the morning in her own bed.
“How long have I been here?” she said aloud as she sat up. Glancing down, she held her hands up in front of her. Her healthy, normal-colored hands. “What is going on?”
